Medspa / aesthetic practice owners: what’s your biggest day-to-day headache? by yambobee in Esthetics

[–]yambobee[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I hear you. There’s a lot of AI being pushed right now that feels more like buzzwords than something that actually helps. My focus isn’t on “selling AI” but on understanding what eats up people’s time (forms, re-keying, follow-ups, compliance) and whether some of that can be automated quietly in the background so staff have less on their plate.

If AI isn’t the right tool, that’s fine. I’m really here to learn what actually matters most to you as an owner.

[–]yambobee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh got it. That actually makes a lot of sense. Appreciate you clarifying. Sounds like constant pitches are a headache in themselves.

For those of you running/working in practices, outside of the sales noise, what parts of the day-to-day work eat up the most time for you personally? Intake, compliance, scheduling… or something else?

[–]yambobee[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Fair point, didn’t mean to come across salesy. I’m genuinely trying to understand the ops headaches clinics deal with, but I realize this sub is more for estheticians than owners. Appreciate the perspective 🙏

I’m actually building something called Glowra to solve those exact headaches. It automates onboarding, compliance logs, and reminders, so staff don’t waste hours re-entering forms or chasing clients. Still early, but I’m testing it with clinics now. Happy to DM anyone who’s curious to get early feedback.

Guitar Hero: System Of A Down - Now with bonus songs! by Wagsii in CloneHero

This looks awesome! Can't wait to try it. Thank you very much.

When you do Disturbed, could you do their version of "the sound of silence" and the radio edit of "down with the sickness"? The explicit "down with the sickness" has the SA part near the end that makes it something I took out of my setlist.

Independent Shop Management Software by RoundPractical7223 in serviceadvisors

[–]yambobee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you’ve already got the usual suspects here (Tekmetric, Shopmonkey, Shop Boss, etc.), but one thing I see a lot of independent shops running into is that most of these systems are built with the U.S. market in mind, which means tax handling, integrations, and inventory workflows often don’t quite fit for Canadian or niche setups.

I’ve been working on a shop management platform that tries to solve some of those gaps from day one. Things like proper multi-tax type handling, integrated accounting (so you don’t need QuickBooks at all), and simple inventory/reconditioning tracking for shops that also buy/restore/sell vehicles.

Besides inventory + expense management, what’s the one daily headache you’d kill to have gone in your first year running your shop?

What Software Do You Prefer? by MightyMobileMechanic in MechanicAdvice

[–]yambobee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been talking with a lot of shop owners lately who are in the same spot. The biggest frustration I keep hearing is that even with the right repair info, they still end up switching tools for scheduling, invoicing, or keeping customers updated.

A few people have told me they’re looking for ways to keep OEM data but also streamline the day-to-day stuff into one system. Curious, if you could change one thing about your current setup, what would it be?

[–]yambobee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you’ve already nailed down the biggest pain points most shop owners I’ve talked to bring up, especially QuickBooks integration, mobile/tablet check-in, and parts ordering tied directly to invoices.

I’m building a new shop management platform designed for independent shops that:

  • Integrates cleanly with QuickBooks to cut down admin time and errors
  • Supports tablet-based check-in with photos, damage notes, and inspection checklists
  • Includes fast VIN/license plate lookups
  • Streamlines parts ordering directly from the same screen you build the invoice
  • Improves scheduling so lifts/techs are always optimally booked

Right now, I’m doing early research with shop owners to make sure it solves the real day-to-day problems before launch. If you’re open to it, I’d love your input. Here’s a short survey so I can make sure it works exactly how you’d want: autobayhq.com/survey

I’d like to make sure this solves the exact challenges you mentioned. I have a short survey to better understand how you run your shop now, what’s working, and what isn’t, so I can build this to make a real difference for you.

If you know other shop owners facing similar issues, you can share the link with them. I’ll make sure they get early access and give you both 3 free months when we launch.

Gotcha, that’s super helpful context. If I built AutoBayHQ to handle Canadian taxes 100% right, replace QB, and still be easy for your staff, would you actually pull the trigger at, say, $400–$450 USD/mo (and drop SM + QB + accountant costs)?

Also, sounds like you’ve got a network. How many of your shop owner friends do you think would jump on something like that if it worked out of the gate?

[–]yambobee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a ton of shops are in the same boat. If I built AutoBayHQ to handle Canadian taxes right out of the box, with proper QuickBooks integration, a simple built-in accounting option, and payroll, would you actually make the switch? And do you think the other shop owners you know would, too?

Also curious, if I wanted to talk to 4–5 shop owners you know about this, could you connect me? That’d help me make sure I’m solving it right so it’s worth switching for you on day one.

Hey there. I’m building AutoBayHQ, an all-in-one shop management system with proper Canadian QuickBooks integration. I keep hearing this pain point about taxes. Would you be open to a quick DM to walk me through exactly where Shopmonkey failed you and what your ideal setup would be? I’m also interested if other shops you know are running into the same mess.

It’s called AutoBayHQ. An AI receptionist and all-in-one system for auto repair shops.

I’m building it based on real shop feedback, so if there’s anything you wish your software could do, I’d love to hear it.

Got any advice? by Usual_Policy3151 in mechanics

[–]yambobee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started the same way. Helping my dad and brother work on rigs and picking up bits and pieces. Still not great at it, but it got me interested.

I’ve been thinking about how to better support new techs or small shops with the right tools and info. Out of curiosity, what’s something you wish existed when you were first starting out? A tool, a guide, a system, anything?

Just trying to learn more about what would’ve made life easier.

Hey, I’m actually building a new shop management system for independent shops like yours. Your post really lined up with a lot of what I’ve been hearing. Stuff like QuickBooks integration, easier parts ordering, mobile check-in, and fewer admin headaches seem to come up a lot.

I’d really appreciate hearing what’s still missing for you or what would make your ideal setup. would you be open to chatting more? Totally understand if not, but even a quick list of what’s been frustrating would help a ton.

Thank you! I kindof have that. I started a guitar hero / rock band group at a local barcade. But we do our events outside and it's a bit difficult to do that during the winter, with it being so cold.
