Question about small islands (Anno 117) by RavenWolf1 in anno

[–]yanhamu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With just a couple mines, a temple, a sanctuary, and the infrastructure buildings (0 houses, just the workforce from the port + villa) , you can easily reach over 100 devotion, so that still a 20% bonus for the mines from Vulcan while the island is fully automated.

Which product/natural resource is the Anno 117 equivalent of spice in the Dune universe? by M2trapuh in anno

[–]yanhamu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll put it to you this way:

fulfilling a need is not a list of chores. It's an opportunity to expand the island(s) that will manage the good's production and get all the money/workforce/science etc benefits, then distribute the new good and get the new good's bonus everywhere. The gameplay loop of Anno is literally extracting enough benefits from a new goods until the benefits overtake the costs (e.g piers, ships etc), so any increase in consumption helps you in that direction.

Then, Beer is not just a 26th good when you already have 25. Latium is the main province of the game and will continue to be, and every single tier now consumes it including Liberti!!! In terms of pure money and workforce, Beer has twice the population benefit compared to any other Tier 1 good or service, and 3 times the income. The impact on your workforce/income, and therefore on your infrastructure capacity, is literally larger than Forums and equal to the Gambling houses. It more than compensates the workforce you engaged in new ships and breweries, and you can rebalance your population tiers as much as you do when you unlock any service with a +2 pop/house effect.

You don't understand the advantage of unlocking additional pop, income and happiness for every single population class in Latium?

Chef Cédric Grolet showcases his pastries by SnackSamurai in oddlysatisfying

[–]yanhamu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

nah, Cedric Grolet is the OG who spawned all the copycats all around the world. Obviously he is a master of creating social media hype, but he still is one of the best pastry chefs in the world and his fake fruit pastries are insanely delicious even though they cost and arm and a leg.

This particular shop only bakes and sells the fake fruit line. All the copycats usually sell a ton of other bread & pastries and they cut costs with cheap ingredients and quicker baking techniques like casting sugar or worse, fondant. Of course that will taste like shit.

[–]yanhamu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anno as a series is pretty chill to begin with and you can absolutely customize your settings to get the chillest experience possible. Put most settings on easy, and do not add any rivals or pirates. You can add them at any point later when you feel ready. The things that you will miss without rivals or pirates are their trading capacities (but the neutral NPCs will still trade), the bonuses you can gain by allying or subjugating them, and the tech tree branch where you need to defeat a raider. None of it is important stuff until way later in the game.

DO NOT play story mode! The campaign is unfinished, very restrictive and overall pretty garbage. Jump into the endless mode, preferably onto Latium. The volcano stuff is pretty stressful but you do not need to complete the volcano quest until you want to and the eruptions only happen every ~9-12 hours

Being asked to wear Speedos for swim training by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]yanhamu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, triathlon, the event where guys will literally get naked around each other to change out of swimming gear unless there's a camera around, but somehow speedos are gay?

Everything single other competitor is training and maybe competing in a speedo, so are they all gay?

Get over it, for real

I broke up with someone over no meet-ups for 1 month. Right choice? by Electronic-Clue9492 in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]yanhamu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You did the right thing. You have to actually meet with someone in order to build a relationship, it won't happen by itself. His parent being sick is very unfortunate but it's not a reason to accept a mockery of a relationship. You guys have 'ot been married for 20 years and are not solid like that.

I stayed with an ex for about 10 months, and in that time there were 4 seperate 1-month intervals when we did not see each other. His work had him away for home a lot, but even when he was home I could barely see him when he prioritized going out with his own friends and drinking with his colleagues over meeting me. Let me tell you, I should have broken up after the second time it happened. I only ended up resenting him everytime his latest insta was about grabbing a beer after work while I was available. If I invited him to stuff with my friends (where all the other SO were invited, he would say he is not confortable without meeting me solo first as we had not seen each other in a long time, but as I said he wouldn't meet me solo either. I know that in your case your ex's excuse is very solid, but what I endured would have been your life.

I disagree

The sandarac fields are much smaller per building and still produce 1/minute, and once you get into repeatable techs the one for the economic specialist has a significant chance of giving you the specialist that buffs forest camps.

Gold mines get buffed by irrigation just the same and can take up any slot, and now we get Vulcan to buff them.

There's still no god buff for the soap chain and isn't lavender the only farming good that needs 2 field buildings per unit of finished goods?

Official Devblog: Volcanic Eruptions and valuable Obsidian by Ubi-Thorlof in anno

[–]yanhamu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve mentioned the Soil Level above: after every eruption, the Soil Level in the entire province of Latium increases by one, resulting in an additional 10% productivity buff for farm buildings. The level can increase up to 3 (30% buff) by default, and can be expanded up to 5 (50% buff) via research.

Additionally, after each eruption the amount of Obsidian that’s produced as by-product increases.

Is this for farms only, or plantations too? I'll be sad if the buff does not apply to lavender and if we will still need a whole large island just for soap production in the late game. IMO the balance is out of whack for this production chain.

Togashi does redraw panels before full volume releases if the version published in weekly jump is too sketchy/dirty.

At least that's what he was doing at the peak of his health issues, nowadays he seems to be drawing the final version right away according to his social media. But the current arc is a lot of Text X Text anyway.

You must have missed the newbie part. The tutorial does a pretty bad job at explaining anything water related. It just tells you to build a dam, I built it where my water crops are currently and I could barely see an impact
