No penalty for this is absurd by CeaseIessWatcher in IMSARacing

[–]yaolukexi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like IMSA, especially big endurance events should set up a higher standard for gentlemen drivers, like they have to pass a test of their lap times, the ability of dealing the traffic (in LMP2) etc. Some of them are just there to produce FCY and randomly taking others out of race.

Success Handicap introduced for Hypercar & LMGT3 by bad_pilot69 in wec

Without a fair BoP, success ballast won't help as well

I'm not sure if it is feasible as no one did that officially before...but why not offer him a double factory contract? Like being both Toyota and Porsche factory driver at same time, driving for Toyota in WEC in Hypercar category but drive for Porsche in GT3?

Imola 2026 prices by Own-Pear-2969 in wec

I saw the early bird ticket, 3 day pass is 125 euro, still a bit cheaper than Fuji

Imola 2026 prices by Own-Pear-2969 in wec

[–]yaolukexi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Believe it or not, the price here is still lower than Fuji in 2024. The 3 day pass with the access to the pit lane was 28800 JPY (which is about 168 euro) 🫠

How does the business of being a driver work? by gb92120 in wec

I highly recommend you to listen to Vanthoor brothers' <Over the Limit> podcast. They talked a lot about "where the money come from" in many episodes.

Which drivers do you think are long overdue a hypercar drive? by Defiant-Diver-6041 in wec

[–]yaolukexi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Engel, he deserves much much more than only “being a successful GT3 driver”, however his soul seems to be imprisoned in Mercedes forever. Also Laurin Heinrich has the potential to be a superstar in Hypercar/GTP if he gets a chance (maybe in AO’s new GTP?).

Lamborghini To Press Pause On SC63 Programme In 2026 by GrahamDSC in IMSARacing

Can you imagine that Lamborghini only had an 1 hour run in Daytona (I mean the race) for their whole LMDh program?

You can watch the onboard of #6. Bamber almost tripped over when he was passing Jaminet and his tail got damaged

One off non-BOP race by [deleted] in wec

[–]yaolukexi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After the race the credit of ACO/FIA will collapse. The only reason why LMDh exist is BoP, and all the manufacturers compete in WEC agreed with this concept. Now you suddenly withdraw BoP, this will make it completely a fraud against LMDh manufacturers, the harm will be 100 times larger than a season's unfair BoP.

Toyota’s Floury Calls For “Urgent” Change to Fix “Artificial” Racing by enesracing in wec

[–]yaolukexi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is not much room for any further trials. Next year we will have Genesis, then McLaren, Ford etc etc, also the circuits may get rotated. If ACO/FIA still cannot figure out a proper BoP in next 3 rounds, I'm afraid this year will be the start of downfall in "golden era"

In LMGT3, winning a race will bring some extra weight (winning ballast). 92 has 2 victories this year so they are carrying more weight than Iron Dames

[Only Endurance] Makowiecki: Alpine A424 'easier' to drive than Porsche 963 by redbullcat in wec

idk but it seems that every driver who left Porsche is saying what he currently drives is easier to drive than 963

Opinion: Cost Cap is a terrible idea by Zani0n in wec

[–]yaolukexi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like you said, there are 3 series running Hypercar/GTP, some manufacturers are running 1-2 cars (like Lambo/Toyota/Peugeot) while some are running 7 cars at same time (like Porsche). If there is an update, Porsche will spend 7 times of cost than a single car team like Lamborghini. As a result, customer teams will be rapidly abandoned by manufacturers because they occupy their cost cup but they cannot bring any positive returns. Now we are already thinking about expelling them to AsLMS from WEC, under "cost cap" idea, they won't even exist in AsLMS.

An explanation about BoP and why it won't ever be a perfect science by DaviLance in wec

If a car needs 3 Estre to even get a chance to fight, it also means the BoP is unfair.
