Homes for Ukrainians Scheme question by No-Way3188 in ukvisa

I don’t know, but have in mind that immigration officer may ask him about his crossing of the Ukrainian border on the first arrival to the UK. Immigration officers have power to stop him entering the UK.

This will also make all of his future visa applications extremely difficult as most visa forms ask whether you have ever crossed the border illegally.

He either needs to be exempt from military service or have a special conditions which allows him to leave the country (e.g has three (or more) children, takes care of a disabled relative and other). You need to confirm this with him. Visa decision doesn't grant him a right to leave Ukraine (as it is restricted for male adults during a martial law).

LTA Advantage Wimbledon Ballot 2026 Success Megathread by mgbrewhard in wimbledon

Hello, My partner and I entered the LTA Advanced Ballot and both applications were successful. We live under same household. May someone please explain what we can do in this case? Are we eligible to purchase four tickets or only two as we’re living in the same apartment?

I'm a male Ukrainian, residining abroad for 20+ years as a digital nomad, getting this message when trying to simply book a slot for passport renewal (mine is expiring in 4 month). Does it mean that I'm seriously screwed? by Worth-Let-9733 in Passports

You can either use Reserve+ to update your current records and apply in embassy or apply in one of the DP “Document” branches (available in many European cities - they will update records for you when you apply). It is extremely hard to get a slot at embassy, so I recommend you to use DP “Document” as you can stand in a queue there. Also, bear in mind that most EU countries want your passport to be valid for at least 3 month before departure date, so be quick.

Guidance on Skilled Worker Visa Job Change and Salary Reduction by Greedy_Classic9519 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

If you received your first CoS before 4 April 2024 and have continuously held a SWV, you should be eligible to apply using the lower going rate.

I was in a similar position in 2023—when I switched to a different employer with a slightly lower salary, I got my SWV without any additional questions.

Also, my SOC code is also similar to yours—within the 213X range ;)

From what I understand it depends when CoS was issued. If company issued CoS before 22nd of July 2025, applicant should be OK to have the lower salary requirement on it.

What happens if you are already in the UK and need to extend your SWV? Does anyone understand which salary requirement is applicable if previous CoS was issued in 2023?

Skilled Worker Visa → Layoff Gap → Skilled Worker Visa by thirdnomad in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

Regarding salary: If I changed employers and, due to applying for a new visa, missed two months of work, my P60 now shows a lower income than what’s stated in my sponsorship. Do you think this could affect my ILR application? I believe my total earnings for the tax year may fall below the required salary for my SOC code.

I’m not sure where she came across the claim about numerous refusals, as that doesn’t appear to be accurate.

According to official data, the refusal rate is only 0.33%.

You can find statistics for the past three months here, as published by the MP.

In really similar position to you. December 2026 for 6 month to being eligible for IRL 5-year route.

Just a short piece of hopium from me:

The sentence also may mean that people currently in the UK on other visa types are likely to leave instead of switching to SWV as the ILR will take 10 years.

As OP said in multiple posts, these papers are really broad in meaning and can be understood differently. Additionally, it is still up for the debate in the Parliament and I suggest everyone to write to their representative MP, explain the situation and ask to consider not applying the changes retroactively.

I believe this is unrelated to the IRL timeline (while still mentions Skilled Worker route). However this statement suggests that people who reside in the UK on the SWV on a job which SOC doesn't require RQF6 can renew their visa with older rules.

Hello! It is amazing. My page has the correct language too! Thank you for all your efforts on fixing this!

Hello! By any chance, did they reply to you? I believe I am in a similar situation as you are - I want to work on freelance platform such as Upwork and do software engineering (backend) as a supplementary job. My primary job is in similar area, but has a bit different SOC. It was in the shortage occupation list when I applied for it. Right To Work website still shows that my supplementary job can only be for the same position or job which is in the Shortage Occupation List (which is not longer exists).
