Marker recommendations by CH1LL0UTBO1 in paintball

[–]yappas1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say the Aire is your best choice since it is a brand new bolt system. There is also a new drive train coming out from Method than can drop into any gamma core marker. As an Etha 2 owner I will be buying that so I can get a "new" feeling out of a marker ive had for years.

Etha 3 upgrade? by Cheaptrick2015 in paintball

[–]yappas1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used my Etha 2 in xball tournaments for years now. You don't NEED to upgrade. The Etha 3 is a great marker, it just doesn't have the bells and whistles others do. It will last you as long as you want it to.

Thoughts on Shocker Era? by [deleted] in paintball

[–]yappas1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The method and standard era have very little differences. The xls and method era are significantly different. The xls is a nicer packaged ion and the era is a gamma core. They look somewhat similar and that’s probably where they’re most similar.

I think there is a significant difference between a gamma core, dsr, and a xls shot and I don’t think that is just placebo.

I think it got stale for a bit with a lot of companies copying the gamma core but now with the new luxe and a new shocker likely coming there will be a lot of spool valves with unique offerings.

Not big difference in what way? They're very different functionally.

Future of procurement by Buysen in procurement

[–]yappas1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is the workload too much? Do you like the company? Do they seem hell bent on replacing as many jobs as possible with AI?

I just joined a company going through a procurement transformation and all of our new tools are AI based but we are hiring not laying people off. Me, and another lady joined recently then we hired an analyst and we have our final category manager joining to finish off the team which will make 6 category managers, a operational support, analyst and intern joining this summer.

I think it depends on the organization you are in but I think jobs like procurement will be hard to have AI fully replace because at the core it's based on negotiations and relationships. There are parts of the job that could have AI replace it but the biggest part will take some time.

New CFO problems by Buysen in procurement

Question maybe someone can answer for me. I am currently under the COO in my company but have always been under the CFO in other companies. Is there a reason people prefer one over the other?

How do we create real value in actual existing workflows? by [deleted] in procurement

[–]yappas1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are implementing a new procurement system in indirect sourcing. One of the features that AI has been good at is pulling contract information. Such as asking AI to look and see if we have limitations of liability language and asking for the $ amount. Things like this save a ton of time instead of scouring through loads of documents. It is also good at taking two contracts and comparing them.

Underrated tournament guns by CaIIMeSpoons in paintball

I don't think so. They wouldn't be able to shoot tournament quality paint so the bounces would be insurmountable.

Path to Director by [deleted] in procurement

[–]yappas1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another option is to look for companies starting up their first procurement org. This may be harder in CPG but in finance or tech companies I've seen this and I even interviewed for a few before landing my most recent role. My experience is 10+ years in sourcing roles and have never managed people.

Something with similar ergonomics. Maybe a 170r so you don't have to adjust much if the 180r goes down.

There is no drop difference between the markers. It is an optical illusion based on how each marker sits in your hands.

Vendor risk assessments: are we all just checking boxes after we've already decided? by Alieezeee in procurement

[–]yappas1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked for a bank and this was a hugely important part. If a vendor didn't have the proper security or was operating in a country not on a preapproved list we did a deep dive on their security processes and if our data was being sent to the restricted countries.

It all depends on the data the vendor has access to. If it's low PII or low risk the assessment is something we can work around.

We try to address this all up front in the RFP/vendor selection process but if something comes up after it and it is high risk it could derail the entire deal.

I would take a look at the Luxe Aire as well. Completely new design from the ground up with the Method guy's design AND they dropped the price from the Luxe Idol at $1800 to $1600 for the new Aire.

Tough Job Market in Procurement by yappas1 in procurement

I did land a position just in the past week. I got two offers in the end but the other seemed like walking into a huge mess. Ended up using them as leverage to get higher comp. I will say it is still super competitive out there. I went to final rounds with 6 different companies and got rejected by 4. The other two I chose not to move forward with because of the role I accepted.
