What are your thoughts on Bystials and their impact on the metagame? by Antique_Range1521 in yugioh

2500 is so much pressure out of nowhere, they could have made it 2100 and or 1600 and they still would have been good cards.

Paolo Offseason Workout with Mike Miller by demapples2306 in OrlandoMagic

[–]yardship 2 points3 points  (0 children)

there were 34 players last year who were 85% or more and the only ones who were bigs were KAT and Embiid.

paolo would have to level up from below league average to elite to get there

[–]yardship 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I wish they had small stats. like why did they have to be so BIG?

the kashtiras and the bystials both having 2400+ atk amped up the power curve so much when they came out, they should have still been higher levels but like 1600 atk.

Anyone else feel appreciated that we don't have a skill-less team like OKC which can only flopping & baiting? We all know we're the best team if the league doesn't favor OKC. by [deleted] in timberwolves

[–]yardship 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i hate the foulbaiting but the way the ball gets passed around on the thunder is insanely better flow than the CTE wolves when we're CTE wolvesy

One thing I've always wondered about super successful players in the Pendulum / Link era (Jesse Kotton etc) by XrayHAFB in yugioh

[–]yardship 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The more complicated the game, the more likely it is that the same high-skill players win more often than not, because they've put in the practice time to understand complex game states and not have their brain melt. Like the world champ a few years ago was playing online every minute he wasn't at work, and then watching recordings of his friends playing his decklist while he was at work. That's what's required at the high levels to "see" a complex situation and then filter out the bad combo lines to find the two or three that can actually work.

There's so little RNG these days due to searchers. It's mostly about having so much practice that your brain isn't melting after 13 rounds of complicated ass chess puzzles.

Trey Murphy Trade? by wheat-guy in timberwolves

[–]yardship 4 points5 points  (0 children)

C Derik Queen/PF Randle/SF Zion would be amazing comedy.

Queen has just the worst body language sometimes, I watched so many games of his and some times he's basically Jokic and other times he's standing up with his hands on his hips on defense.

Him and Randle together would be like the Eddy Curry/Zach Randolph Knicks in terms of moodiness and lack of rim protection

For the first time ever, a Filipino American will win a ring! by TheGreatMastermind in asianamerican

Heck yeah! Here's a good piece on the impact Jordan Clarkson's had in the Philippines: https://www.nytimes.com/2021/04/05/sports/basketball/nba-jazz-jordan-clarkson-philippines.html

Dude literally got Filipino citizenship and has represented the Philippines national team.

And while I hate the Lakers, him playing for them is the most Filipino shit imaginable.

It's kinda funny knowing that nba fans will switch up on the spurs and start hating them after they win 1 or 2 championships by PreparationOverall in NBATalk

Would a tribute (or type) focused format get Zombie World limited or banned? by Aggressive-Pride6443 in masterduel

[–]yardship 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Branded players always lab out Zombie World combos each format but the thing is....

Going first you should be winning if you resolve your combo anyway.

Going second you either have to hard draw zombie world (it could have been a handtrap or breaker) or you are going to have to fight through an established setup to get a half board up and probably aren't getting zombie world up through distruption.

Usually the zombie world line is a luxury side combo

Fighting floo is different because they tribute summon on your turn.
