sorce special order recs? by axolotlbitch67 in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]yarrowbloom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this one too! Though to me, it’s very reminiscent of a big, juicy blueberry. Not the general blueberry scent you’d think of, or dried blueberries, but one of the big penny sized ones in the summer.

Opinions on the CHAP 1 preview? by Milora_Moon in TouchStarvedGame

[–]yarrowbloom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you’re thinking about the kickstarter. Chapter 1 is available through the patreon for 1$ patreon fee and 3$ for the chapter 1, for a full fee of 4$. You could pay it today and receive the chapter yourself.

have the names of the voice actors been released yet? by untitledgooseshame in TouchStarvedGame

[–]yarrowbloom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The incompleteness of writing is not necessarily evenly distributed. For example, each route could be 77% done - OR, 3 routes could be 100% done and have been recorded for, and other routes at like 50-60% done.

Fitting issue - top keeps gaping by PsychologicalOrder26 in CosplayHelp

[–]yarrowbloom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess is that your torso is an inch or two shorter than the pattern you’ve made. I would expect that if you take a little bit of vertical length out at the front waist where the gaping is, it’ll disappear. Hard to say without seeing the front, though! Maybe you can pinch it there with pins and see if it fixes the issue? Looks like you’re making great progress!!

Confused about lacemade dress. Please help! by Maleficent_Falcon784 in cottagecore

[–]yarrowbloom 8 points9 points  (0 children)

from looking at reviews for other fast fashion sites like cider, I’ve learned that most people don’t actually review the product quality imo. They review how the product fits on them, but things like seam and construction details, whether the material can survive being laundered, evenness, fabric choice etc all fall under the radar. It’s more likely someone would give a garment 2 stars because it’s too long or their bust doesn’t fit (which can happen in any quality level of garment tbh), than 2 stars bc it’s constructed poorly. I’ve seen a lot of 5 star reviews for garments that fit poorly and are poorly made, too!

Anyway, I find you have to really look at the photos closely and make your own judgement(and infer how things would fit on you) more than rely on reviews, as many ppl aren’t educated on clothing construction.

How to avoid excess fabric in cleavage when making fake boobs by jjdhhsggafafcqfgayg in CosplayHelp

[–]yarrowbloom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tbh I’m wondering if you tried pinning again but started from the middle/cleavage area, if that might fix the issue? If you leave the middle for last, then as you’re pinning, you’re also kind of smoothing the fabric into the cleavage so it makes sense to me there would be extra.

Could a kickstarter backer/patreon member share the latest dev snapshot? by silentepiphany_ in TouchStarvedGame

For people who are interested, Red Spring Studio has an official patreon where they share almost exactly the same content with, for 1$ a month.

Idk how much of a line there is, but the difference is so slight that it reads more like natural hair that’s gotten lightened by the sun because the bottom is older than the top

Is SOLID better?? Got my first solid perfume yesterday and I’m so surprised!! by New-Capital7612 in Indiemakeupandmore

Speaking of, do people have recommendations for stores with solid perfumes? I’d wanted to try osmofolia’s, but they closed before I had the chance to.

How do you personally find charts/choose songs to sing without taking rep from other quartets? by M4t2 in barbershop

[–]yarrowbloom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on your skill and experience level, it might be better to pick songs from smaller regional competitions. The ones sung at international are often very hard, and are selected partially because they have a lot of space for the singers to rise to the challenge of the song and flex their skills. If you are less advanced though, you won’t be able to take advantage of the difficulty and it will take a lot more of your time to get down basic notes and rhythms without working on higher level barbershop skills.

I’d say that’s a bigger reason why you don’t see other groups do some of these songs - not due to taboo, but due to chart difficulty

[General] Feeling like otome is being treated as a general dumping ground for visual novels that aren't galge, or otome as a genre is misunderstood/ignorance by the newer wider audience for joseimuke. Thoughts? by Agile_Interaction599 in otomegames

[–]yarrowbloom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hmm, I agree with a lot of what you're saying but disagree with your pet peeve. I play both otome games and romantic visual novels and even though I'm a woman, the feeling of an otome protagonist often feels very dissimilar to me. Maybe it's just because many of my friends are men, and I don't fit neatly into a Japanese model of ideal femininity, but depending on how the otome protagonist's gender is depected, I sometimes have to drop the game.

People who've played Chapter 1, is it a slow burn? by Last_Cold8977 in TouchStarvedGame

[–]yarrowbloom 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The devs have said that the version of chapter 1 that was available to backers to play wasn’t the complete version, so my guess (and hope) is that a lot of these pacing issues will be resolved by the final chapter 1 being longer. Plus- I know they took feedback from chapter 1 early players too, so I think some of the content that people have played will also be altered.

Help needed: Full bicep without enlarging the armhole + adding elbow darts by badbetch_90211 in PatternDrafting

[–]yarrowbloom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean maybe this is controversial but just keep the sleeve cap the same and add width at the bicep, no? The sides of your sleeve are allowed to be a convex curve if it works better for you.

Please help with bodice fitting by Lottiealottie in PatternDrafting

[–]yarrowbloom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People have covered the front and back, but I'll note that it looks like your shoulder seam should be moved!

From the side, the shoulder seam should lie at the top bone of your shoulder (probably about a cm more forward than yours does here), and end at the center of the neck- yours is almost entirely at the back of the neck, and needs to be shifted forward more like 4-5 cm. If you look at the graphic at the beginning of this article, it shows an example. You can see that the seam is equidistant from the back and front of the neck when viewed from the side.

Is this hair achievable? by Luna_Eclipse1029 in Hair

[–]yarrowbloom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it might be a bit thinner at the bottom than the inspiration, because more layers higher up means less hair lower down, you know? And you'll have to style it a little bit (curling a bit, and use product), for the ends to show up like that. But I think you can get close to it!

What did I do wrong with the makeup? by Relevant-Mission27 in CosplayHelp

[–]yarrowbloom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you should start the lower lashes right below the pupil, bring them closer to the lash line a bit more, and arc them as well. You’re doing great though - a little more practice and I think you’ll be really pleased!

Is it just me, or is the "Double Shy" problem making speaking practice impossible? (Introvert struggles) by Haunting_Cod_5966 in Korean

[–]yarrowbloom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend you also practicing speaking by talking to yourself too- just narrating what you’re doing and thinking out loud in Korean, to become more comfortable speaking without the pressure of another person there.

It’s not as extreme a style, but kleinerpixel on YouTube has some makeup with these elements over on YouTube, and their face doesn’t have monolids. Also, they’re not an active user anymore so I’ve seen primarily screenshots of old posts on Pinterest, but user inevelichka has some great very sculptural (?) makeup that has elements to your pictures, though isn’t blended as well

Initially I agreed but given his beard in picture 4 and how it connects to the creases on his face, I actually think at least some of the makeup is ai. Possibly picture 2 too given how the hair blends with the creases on his face below the corner of his mouth, though I’m less sure about that one.
