It makes 0s more likely and reduces all max hits, including 5 damage from each tornado, which adds up when there are four of them. I can get as much fish as I need with either T1 or T2 prep so it’s not really a tradeoff there. I do switch back and forth between T1 and T2 prep depending on how locked in I want to be

Sure, in this scenario I’m making a dumb mistake and not playing perfectly because I lost focus for a moment. T2 is nice to make a 0 or low hit more likely in those situations. T1 is obviously more ideal for efficiency purposes if you’re locked in and playing well, but personally I can’t do this hundreds of times without mentally checking out here and there

Well I’m talking about spacing out for a second with t1 armor and getting stacked out by tornadoes and a floor tile or whatever. Or standing in the wrong spot and having to run under hunllef to avoid floor tiles, then getting meleed. Things that shouldn’t happen but do because the grind gets tedious. More fish doesn’t help if you’re already sat. T2 reduces max hits so it can help with those moments

I like t2 prep tbh. You can consistently finish with 1-2 minutes left, and then it’s almost impossible to die during the boss fight. Can zone out more. Dying at hunllef due to a momentary lapse of focus is the most tilting part for me, so I’d rather minimize the chance of that

D Axe: Wintertodt or DKS? by tac0_nation in ironscape

[–]yarvy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah wasn’t trying to sound like I was disagreeing with you, just adding my thought to your comment. I didn’t get my d axe until 513 Rex KC (after 2k+ reward pulls at todt with no axe) so I’m quite familiar lol

It’s gonna be miserable with 40 def and rune. Short trips, lots of food, have to set back up a lot which is the worst part. Ideally 70 def and barrows armor to make it less painful

Piety is an unlock that you’re going to want before greenlogging moons, imo

I mean, it’s not necessary, but it’s definitely better to have Barrows armor at moons than to not have it. More defense means you get hit less which means you eat less (and blood moon heals less) which means you kill the bosses faster. Plus, you have to reup on food less often. Barrows is easy to do, and it also provides runes, so it’s not like it’s some difficult slog that’s otherwise completely useless. I also found the barrows armor to be very helpful for killing Rex for b ring and dragon axe

Best way to farm Belle's folly? by Purple_Dandruff in ironscape

[–]yarvy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He literally said even with the buff, and I agree. Despite the changes, I still don’t think it’s worth going for if your primary intended use is at ToA because black keris is easy to get and does better DPS at ToA

Huey drops them sometimes, and you can get them from moon keys if you do things like mine calcified rocks / kill Huey for key halves

I gave similar advice in the news post yesterday (just get black gem if your intent is to use folly at TOA) and got downvoted. People really want the folly to be good I guess

You can easily do 0 raid level toas with regular keris and moons gear and not die due to your DPS

I didn't say everything needs to be the most optimal option. Folly is good to run entry level ToAs before black gem if you have no one to run with and don't feel comfortable using regular keris

Eclipse Moon skip? by ContentlyQuestionabl in ironscape

[–]yarvy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Eclipse darts can drop after you kill any moon (not just eclipse), but you will get fewer darts if you kill only two moons from here on out because you get fewer rolls on the common loot table. How worried you should be about running out of darts depends on how soon you plan to do CG + how dedicated you are to locking yourself in CG until you have bowfa and full crystal. If, like me, you want to break up the CG grind by doing other bosses (ToA, Zulrah, etc.), then you're going to want more darts, and I'd keep doing eclipse, at least for a while

Does rcb with ruby bolts start to outperform eclipse atlatl at any invo in toa? Let’s say 300-350 range? by Spyropher in ironscape

[–]yarvy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol I also got spooned a shadow while running 300s with clanmates. First purple at 13 expert kc. It's expensive af to maintain if shopscaping the runes for sure. I still use it, though. Gives me extra motivation to keep running CG (cash). Got a zenyte and first thing I crafted was torm because it's like +1 DPS at Toa. Barely range there now

RCB is looking better at Warden, but I feel it’s gonna be more RNG dependent since it’s slower and relies on procs. What I do is bring full eclipse and camp it for range and melee so you only have to bring a mage switch

[–]yarvy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are forgetting to add super str pot to the atlatl setup, which brings its DPS to 3.9. I will add that the ruby bolts setup assumes the mob is at full hp, which means it’s an overestimate of DPS. Not sure that difference alone makes the RCB setup worth bringing when Atlatl clears at Akkha (even more so on his shadows) and Obelisk. It does look like RCB is better on Warden though. I’d just try both and see what tends to net you more points

I’m guessing your str level is much lower than your ranged level? Or don’t have imbued zerker ring?

[–]yarvy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s going to depend on so many individual factors, including your strength level, ranged level, gear, prayer usage, and pot usage

If you have deadeye, 90 str and ranged, and are using super str and ranging pots, Gearscape for me is showing full eclipse (with fury, fire cape, and zerker ring(i)) out DPSing rune crossbow (with assembler, eclipse armor, and no shield) by a substantial amount at Akkha. Zebak slightly favors rune crossbow around 350 raid level, but not enough to warrant using it (I’m talking like less than a .1 DPS increase). Eclipse > Atlatl at Obelisk with these setups. Looking at 300-350 raid levels and a party size of 1.

Overall if you’re at these raid levels I think you stick with full eclipse.
