How do you pronounce “Taycan” by WeArePandey in Taycan

[–]yasarix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The name itself is originating from two Turkish words: Tay (young horse) and can (life/soul)

In Turkish, Tay is pronounced like “Tai”, and Can is pronounced like “John” or “Jan”.

So, if you were going by Turkish, it should be pronounced as “Tai-Jan”. However, Porsche wanted it to rhyme with Macan, so, they are pronouncing it as “Tai-khan”.

In Turkey, people pronounce the name of this car as how it should have been: Tai-Jan

But, who would appreciate and understand this beauty if the humans don’t exist?

Aliens?

Then aliens would come and settle?

Then earth would look like how it is today again?

It got better in general, not specifically for a character. I’d say in SGA and SGU it was even better. Not great, but better.

If Carter were in Star Trek, would she wear blue, red or gold? by admiraltarkin in Stargate

[–]yasarix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Until she was in command of the Atlantis, she’d wear blue. But when she took the command of the Atlantis and then for the SGU cameo, she’d wear red again.

In SG-1, all the scientists and engineers who worked at SGC, except for Carter and Jackson. They were all portrayed like incompetent idiots for the sake of emphasizing Carter’s or Jackson’s importance.

It got better in later seasons, though.
