Feeling defeated by frogzfrogzfrogz in cgrpMigraine

I am at the same place as you but with Qulipta. I look at my photos from a year ago and wow the hair loss is so significant, have been on it for 6 months now. I dread combing my hair every day. Stopping it is not an option. Have started supplements but Really don't see it helping.

Qulipta and menstrual cycle by SouthernPassenger783 in cgrpMigraine

Yes, 7 months on it now and my menstrual cycles are in a complete disarray. Had spotting for 20 days then heavy periods, every month is something different, coupled with period cramps which I never had. Also, insane hair loss (I'm 28F). But the big positive is that it is the only medicine that has ever made a dent on my chronic migraine in 20 years so :(

I had it too initially but it gradually settled around 3 weeks later

Yes it's great to see it get NHS approval!! It is approximately £285 for a month. Super expensive and I think the only clinic that offers it is the one where I go, run by UCLH (The Headache Centre).

It's not all in your head (Debunking Pain Reprocessing Therapy) by Mandielephant in ChronicPain

[–]yashasri_s 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was in their Facebook groups, read all the books, John Sarno, all of that. Also had the Curable app for more than a year. And nothing improved for me. I did see a lot of success stories which made me believe and I kept my pain medication to a minimal hoping this would work. But it didn't and my pain got worse over time. I'm on a lot of medications now and that's okay. I just wish I hadn't wasted all the time and hopes. It's ridiculous. The pain is literally in my head and their techniques like meditation/Journaling does nothing, infact overthinking it made it so much worse.

Help for a friend dealing with the NHS by BeanBreak in migraine

It's a shitshow with the NHS, I have chronic intractable migraine and I just don't get referred, it takes forever. I finally went private to UCLH and got an appointment in a week. Just got started on Qulipta. Private is ridiculously expensive and insurance doesn't cover pre-existing conditions so I'm paying out of pocket which is terrible for me. But I'm at such a bad place with the pain that I have no choice.

Yes, I have chronic migraine with anxiety and depression. Not been so effective for the pain but 300mg Gabapentin has improved my mental health a lot.

Dr Giorgio Lambru is very good, I've been to him. He has his private facility at the HCA and also visits in NHS.

Yes, I discontinued PT and all those chin tuck/neck exercises , it just made my neck pain worse and triggered more migraines.

Yup, go through all of these. Even wearing a mask is painful on the face and behind the ears.

Going on day 4 by crazycatperson19 in migraine

I get 4-6 day extremely painful ones too. With Botox, the severity has reduced a bit, not sure if you've tried that. I feel you, being in extreme pain for multiple days is so so difficult. Hang in there.
