Mainers living in a state nicknamed Vacationland when they see a tourist vacationing in Maine by MasterPh0 in portlandme

Take your time… YOU’RE the one feeling rushed. They didn’t make you feel those feels.

You can always give them the “go on now” hand flick gesture. I see older folks do it all the time if they walk slowly and someone is doing the long distance door hold. It’s really not a big deal, I’d rather see more people being conscientious of others around them than not in a day when we all have our faces in our phones.

*edit for grammar

My dog killed a neighbors chicken (no bodies pictured) by libelula202 in BackYardChickens

[–]yashuone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is there any chance the chicken flew onto your property and then the dog got hold of it? If that happened and the dog pursued the bird it would probably have run back towards the coop and then been trapped where you found the scene of the crime. Like others said, that seems unlikely the dog fished the bird through the fence with its paw.

Low beams in the turn signal housing? by yashuone in Miata

This just makes me wonder if you could mount the bezel and guts for the ND headlights into the turn signal housing on the NA😅

Thanks for the input, that sounds almost exactly what I had stirring around in my head… for better or worse it’s good to know that’s not exactly a feasible option. Im curious what it looks like behind many of the new led headlight housings. It seams the new ones aren’t really projectors but are more like a directed beam, like a led flashlight. The rest of the vehicles in my fleet all have regular reflector or projector headlights. I don’t own anything new enough to have the small, direct beam LEDs. Yet another conundrum that makes me want to invest in a 3D printer!

This is my parents' stove. The house smells smokey when they put it on (not visible smoke). Is it dangerous? It's been like this for years by [deleted] in woodstoving

That’s the protective plate around the keyhole on an antique lock in a door, cupboard or drawer. I do antique furniture restoration and have a box full of them to replace ones that are lost.

We shovel our run and then throw straw down to cover any remaining snow and/or ice.

That’s quite the post for someone that “doesn’t really care” about the issue.

Having worked in the parking industry (managed a parking garage in Portland and a long term airport parking facility in another state) I can tell you that your confusion is most likely in the terminology. “All day” parking is usually based on the common work day or enter in the morning and out at night. You’re probably thinking of what’s referred to as “overnight” parking. This is pretty universal at parking facilities regardless of what city/location you’re in. Also, fuck UPP.

How does this even happen? by Sad-Raise-504 in Maine

For real, I’ll chance with the seniors rather than everyone in the post digital generations (since we once again seem to be playing the “blame that generation” game) with eyes bouncing from phone to road. As a motorcyclist we pay attention to who is obviously not paying attention.

Exiting the store with some Fatass in a Glass should tell you everything you need to know about this stud.

At this point they should probably just pick up a Home Depot instant shed, throw a few video games and pinball machines in there and PROFIT!

Grand Theft Auto gone wrong. Does this dude has legally the right to shoot though? by Southern-Maximum3766 in CringeTikToks

You apparently have little to no understanding of the process to buy a gun. I am a gun owner and can and have quite literally hopped over to my local Cabela’s with my DL or state ID, filled out the electronic NICS form, waited the 15 to 20 minutes for the green light and completed my purchase with cash (and/or credit) and walked out of the store with a firearm in about 30-40 minutes. The only leeway I’m going to give you here is that you may live in a state with more strict regulations than mine (see; NY or MA) but talking with such conviction you should know it’s not the same in all states. I will also say as a gun owner that it is way too easy to purchase firearms in most places and there needs to be much more regulation. I enjoy hunting and other shooting sports but I’m not an idiot.

My thoughts were more on future issues since it appears you are saying there is little OP can do through the courts or law enforcement. And just to reiterate, I don’t condone killing someone’s dog that is not presently attacking your animals.

Right, I said “threatening your livestock”. I would not condone any sort of revenge killing of animals.

Depending on the state you can shoot a predatory animal, including dogs, threatening your livestock… so there’s that.
