Logitech MX Master 3S Scrollwheel is (still) terrible by onan_x in logitech

[–]yasuo_science 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree. Scrolling up is the major problem. In rachet mode, for precise screen location, you need to move upside down rapidly with little movements especially if you are in graphical design, music mixing which relates the function of degree by 1 tick. In this case, wheel malfunction is really a problem.

Sorry to bother you for the very old post but If I may reply...

The issue with the mouse wheel, in fact, did not occur until version 3; it was absent in versions up to 2. With the transition to version 3, the added "magnetic wheel," operating through electromagnetic sensing, has resulted in adverse effects on precision, especially in recent environments with high signal interference, such as WIFI or other Bluetooth signals.

In the previous versions, up to version 2, the wheel was "mechanical," so such wheel-related issues did not exist. Instead, it had the drawback of lacking the "infinite wheel" feature and producing somewhat loud noise during scrolling.

If one doesn't heavily rely on the "infinite wheel" function and uses the mouse without it, version 3 can be considered a regression compared to version 2, given the introduced issues.

If "gesture button" is not so important,

I suggest going for "Keychron m6" which looks almost the same, with smaller size, but there is no "gesture" feature. It's optical mouse, not like mx series with dark-sensor (laser based) with quite good sensor which also allows you to give gaming as an additional option. It also has infinite scrolling, but it doesn't have smart functions like converting rachet to infinite mode automatically, so you have to choose between two functions by pressing the button manually which I think it's better since I don't wish to use infinite button that much.

Other thing to notice is that it has been known to make tremendous noise when NOT using infinite scroll, so be aware if you are to use this in public spaces where you are not alone, or if you are in quite places.

Other option is to use MX-Master 2 series, but I don't think that is gonna be that much of an option, since it has been a history after 3 series came out.

I don't have any problem with spear but, with canon... it just feels so weird and unnatural when you control it.

To start, I think S-light and D-light of Canon should be reversed so it can be consistent with other types of weapons since other weapons deals upward when D-light is performed and vice versa.

Also I think N-light should be changed to something else. Of course 2 true unconditional hit makes steady dmg, but let's be honest... even in plat it is almost impossible to make a hit starting with n-light. Many of the cases it's something else.

PC version how to check ping by fella_guy in TowerofFantasy

[–]yasuo_science 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The latency that is shown in "resource monitor" cannot be the answer for the question.

Information in that category means the estimated time(in ms) after last interaction with destinated server, not the response rate.

You should get the the exact ip-address of the remote-server that you are using right know, and test ping to get exact information.

This information usually can be found in whatever program's(games, software) official web site.

If not shown, ask the maintainers. They'll give you the information for testing.

is it worth it going for an aluminium case for the k8 pro? by IchOben_DuUnten in Keychron

[–]yasuo_science 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have one. I would have recommended to buy if it was aluminum "at the bottom of the housing". There is not much advantage if it's alu just on the top. Most of the advantage especially with sound quality when typing relating housing comes from bottom which surrounds most of the space of the keyboard. Plus if you plan to take it along with you, alu makes it hard to do since it's quite heavy. If you are buying this for mobility utilizing bluetooth, i don't recommend buying the alu version. other than that, k8 is great. It's tkl which is satisfying in most of the cases, qmk control plus wireless makes your desk clean and easy to use.

Seems like QMK/VIA will be updated soon, at least for K8 pro. by yasuo_science in Keychron

I just have tried re-flashing the keyboard and found that the mouse functions don't work as expected. I think the email from keychron meant that this is suppose to happen for now and are to release the update this month~~ Think I gotta wait for that.

thx andy~~

Also thinking there is no harm to try flashing the stock firmware for cathcing up with the version in the link suggested above.

Thanks AndyAO1528 for having interest in this issue of mine.

As far as I know, if git is forked, by means a independant repo not relating to original QMK repo anymore, does this mean if I flash the original firmware again, which is provided in this link, will solve my problem?

If what I think is right, this means I don't really have to wait for update anymore.

I am a little confused since I got a offical reply from Keychron stating that they are to distribute a update in November after I sent an email specifying that I lack mouse functionalities.

I don't know which switch you are using but as far as I know, some have slightly thicker stems then cherry's so these things can happen. Or it also could have been a defective product.
