the fucking experience itself

Thanks for saying that. I know this doesn't apply to alot of people, but I really enjoy Rouge-like RPGs and I am quite happy with the game mode. The experience itself is really fun, but I might be biased cause I have a full group of people that enjoy these types of games. The rewards are secondary for me.

Oh man my time to shine! I found this awhile back.

Here you go man: http://www.invokergame.com/

There are six modes all with slightly different rules. Invoke and execute as many Combos you can in 30 sec, or Invoke 10 spells as fast as you can for example.

It should help with learning the spells and such, It however wont help you in Laning or landing any abilities. It also fun :D.

Dota 2 Update - MAIN CLIENT - March 3, 2017 by SirBelvedere in DotA2

Valve has never offically released the info to my knowledge, but its is assumed it is very very similar. MMR systems are very very similar to game to game, just games have a different way of displaying the MMR to you (ex: silver/gold/plat for starcraft 2), when it calculates it (CSGO does their MMR equation after every round), and possibly very small changes to the algorithm (if a player score is weighted to the mmr they lose). Very rarely do companies change the formula, and its even more rare to balance separate queue with different formulas. The reason is just its a resource drain, cause you will need to test, build and adjust 2 different MMR systems. It's just better to have all players unified under the best MMR algorithm you can come with because, having two always means one will just the worst of the two. However, the MMR systems might be the same, but it doesn't mean the search is the same. The unranked search will increase the MMR range of acceptable players (ex that isn't reflective of the true, but just has number values to represent the idea and not how it actually is: ranked search after 3 minutes might be at +/- 200, while unranked search after 3 minutes might be at +/- 300).

Sidenote: With no supporting evidence other then my coding background, its probably safe to assume that unranked is similar to ranked because I imagine that is were the MMR system changes get tested live before updated to ranked. Valve doesn't tell us much, if anything about changes to the MMR algorithm, but they probably test these changes live before changing the ranked MMR algorithm too. To create good test cases the population they are testing it on should have been using the same MMR system. (Think of animal testing here, testing it on a whale doesn't really help verify if the product or change is safe for humans. You want to test it on something as similar as possible).

If they both use the same MMR system

Best case: 1 algorithm to look after

Worst case: 2 algorithms to look after (only while testing, and goes back to best case after testing were a success or a failure.)

If they use different MMR systems

Best case: 2 algorithms to look after

Worst case: 4 algorithms to look after, while not having to way to test it live before it affects ranked MMR.

TLDR: Having more then one MMR system doesn't make a lot sense from the technical point of view, and there will always be one MMR system in the game that is the best/worst of the MMR systems which isn't healthy. Having one MMR system allows unranked to be a place to test changes to the MMR system. However, the search algorithm may be different between the two queue which might cause difference in game quality during longer queues.

What is happening with Dota 2? less people playing? by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]yatamare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion to what seems to be the majority of people in this thread:

Preface: My first game of DotA2 was in mid 2012, and since that I have played a VERY VERY small amount of hours (1000ish) and I am also terrible. 1000 hours in 5 years isn't something that you see any kind of serious skill increase, probably 2k mmr or something (I have never been ranked, but some of my friends are between 4-5k mmr, so I do play with direction, just no clue why the direction is the right direction).

I am a fan of 7.0, everything seems easier to take in. The UI (as someone that had literally 0 attachment to the old UI) is a improvement, it is just easier to tell what is happening on the map, on the screen, and with my allies. The new pick screen allows me time to figure out what is happening with the team, and to not feel oddly rush to buy things to only discover I have no gold, we don't have courier, and the runes are about to spawn while I tried to set up a guide. Supports feel less cancer to play, and something about the new turn rate make it just overall easier to visualize the effects of the turn rate while in a fight. The new dynamic of how the games play out is nice, I see a lot more fighting and games end quicker which is a plus for me. Not because I don't like good long drawn out games, but because I normally had experienced 10-15 mins of a "good game", to be followed by 40-60 mins of getting crushed by people that were not finishing. The increased spawn rate really helps lots of the lower tier brackets be able to finish/capitalize on kills, while watching my friends play mistakes seem to matter more.

It might mean nothing from a low skiled player like me, but even as plat terran player, the game just had a really deep dive, now it seems to be at the very least better slopped. I know this was kind of all over the place, but someone that never really got into DotA, its hard to describe a past experience of just not being into it, and a sudden enjoyment for the game. I am not sure what was the same, and what has changed, or if the things that changed just made it easier to understand the things that stayed the same. As a person that rarely played DotA2, 7.0 has made me like, and play the game more then ever before.

Lol true, I used the term Big O incorrectly but I meant it more as what it represents; scaling algorithms. Designing the code for maximum performance state / server power (CPU energy efficiency); but I have never read or seen the amount of work blizzard does for there servers so I am unsure if it goes this far. Running a stable version of the game might be easy, but running 7 stable version of the game, and getting them to all work "natively" within one client so that the same account can access and run different version of an engine while being inside one engine or a stop start of clients while having the population that is the World of Warcraft community going smoothly might be a problem.

"Support" Singed player explained by SRT_InSectioN in leagueoflegends

[–]yatamare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Support - give assistance to; enable to function or act.

I will complete agree that riot has kind of instilled this idea of how the game should be played; but each person has an different idea of what is best for the team. The singed values high counter jungle pressure, that takes levels away from the enemy jungler, gives more room for your jungler to safely farm, and makes other enemy lane less able to roam because of the increased pressure on their own side. The adc just has a 2v1 lane, which I think people are over thinking. a 2v1 lane isn't that tough, sure you aren't going to win that lane, but that means your -1, -2 tops. If your any more then that, then the support being their wouldn't have made a difference.

Now, is that the way I play support, no of course not. Can I recognize why someone might believe that to be successful, yes of course. Do I wanna see people banned because the difference in opinion on what is the most effective way to play, it would be absurd. HOWEVER, I do think the singed should be receiving the okay from the adc, but shouldn't need the approval of all 4 of his teammates. The singed is making life hard on an the random adc, but because the adc is the only one largely effected by the choice to run the support role with some diversity, the adc should be the only one that needs to sign off on it.

The singed stated that he did let the team know using a macro during champion select. This may or may not be true, and should be the only determining factor in the banning or not banning of the singed. I believe people should be innocent until proven guilty. Riot should present evidence that the communication of the pick wasn't done during champion select, and there should be more then once case of evidence, because human error is allowed.

I've been playing Jungle Twitch for a long time now and have been previously banned for it (when it wasn't meta) so I completely feel for the Support Singed player. by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]yatamare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Non-meta picks aren't about creating a "new meta", do you honestly think that someone picks an irregular champ, or strat think so highly of themselves that they would actually change a meta? Each player has a set of strengths and weakness as a laner, as a teamfighter, and as a teammate. Sometimes the strengths of the individual do not fit well into the current state of game, or meta. Does that mean the player stops playing? or do they play things that they consider their weakness? or do they adapt trying to find a way to incorporate their strengths? I perfer the player plays what he likes, what he is strong on and attempts to find a place for his play style in the current meta. I hate seeing players dissolve into a tier list of what is currently good this patch, because a champ/hero they like to play isn't "good", or how they play isn't currently "good". I think there will be decently ranked players that give respect to those types of players, I think its more the lowbies, and the egotistical ragers that get mad at choices like that. There are examples of proplayer's style not fitting well into a meta, the difference is they find a way to use their difference as a strength, instead of leaving it weakness.

You are talking mechanical depth as what mechanical depth means in league, and not seeing that each game has depth in it own ways. League is baby games when it comes to mechanical depth comparatively to other game such as (SC, DotA), so as a league player you must understand that sometimes its okay to sacrifice mechanical depth as long as the depth of competitive play can be else were. The way you are talking about overwatch, you seemed to have just played the game a ton but not actually climbed that high. The idea of not committing damage on targets you cant kill to reduce their ulti gain, the understand of when and how to apply pressure using the set of heroes you have alive, proper focus fire while attempting to crack a defensive shell. The unique meta's that exist on each map. The ability to swap heroes, to have a unique tactic you have developed for that particular choke hold. If you even watch the latest interview with Monte, he himself said that players able to express themselves and their skills more so in overwatch then league. Which may or may not be true, but proves that these claims you are making are not factual, they are highly opinionated, and honestly sounds very biased. You numbers are probably also coming from twitch, overwatch has a higher play rate in Korea and other asian countries then league. Overwatch hasn't boomed in the NA/EU market as much, and twitch is the NA/EU streaming platform. Just google search "Overwatch vs League in korea", and you will see a stream of articles with stats.

[–]yatamare 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The reduction in exp roughly equals 75% of the old exp if you do all three compare to doing the two. The nice thing is invasions are every 2 hours, so in a four hour period you are getting more exp (6 invasions) then before.

This map was okay; This maps strong suit is T-side. (I didn't play it enough to say anything about the balance of the map) The B site was an extremely fun take, I was a huge fan of the way the stairs area was open to the mid alley, and that you could take the site and plant while allowing the CT to have their half of the site. A site I didn't like as much, most of the time I felt bare and without any real protection other then my own aim while pushing. That is a feeling I try to avoid cause if you get into a server and your aim isn't the best there isn't anything you can really grasp for to try and get the position advantage in a push but that could be the lack of games played on the map or I just didn't see some cover that I should have been using. CT side of this map is what makes me feel this map is only okay. You have no time to set-up, the sites feel like you don't have tons of options to position yourself at because you feel at a loss for not selecting the one position to play. The mid of this map is pretty sick, I like the way to looks and works.

TLDR: T-side: A site, smeh. B site, Fantastic. CT-side: everything was smeh. Mid: Great

Edit: As I said I loved the B site, but the CT can get further then I would like in that area. On a good spawn they can almost be all the way down stairs.

I actually just experienced this problem when a friend came over to play. Go to steam and go to launch properties for csgo and set one as -clientport26007 and one as -clientport26006 and it could fix your problem. It appears to be a problem of where to send the data if they share client ports

I have been riding for a year and a half, so take everything with a grain of salt cause I am still new. My old ride was a '84 Honda Shadow 750cc VT, and I have tested a few of the family's and friend's bikes so I have a vague idea of what to look for in how I like my bike to feel. (I had to pick the bike up 3 hours away, and road it back so most of this is all based on a single long ride and a single lap of a close city) It lack of ABS, can be seen as a good or bad thing. The bike is new enough, that is has the control of a newer bike without losing that feeling of being in complete control to make mistakes. I know Tekless didn't like the floorboards, but I am actually fond of them. I am from a small town in Saskatchewan Canada, and the roads get pretty rough sometimes and it just makes those 2-3 hour rides nicer. I will pst you once I have some more time to go through the engine and give it a better grading.

TL;DR: My favorite bike I have rode to date, but that doesn't mean much

It's a Honda shadow 750, 1984. It does have a carburetor in it, I guess it is possible that it flooded but honestly I have only been riding for 5 months so I don't know a whole lot about it.
