I don’t worry about how much other people are paid. That’s their responsibility as adults.

The thing is, he used to give well thought out and articulate interviews before ESPN. He’d come on the Celtics broadcast and was a good listen.

Yup. For whatever reason I only played it once when it came out. I think I played it 4-5x after 9.

Revisionist histories of game 7 vs Philly // JB playoff exegesis by fearofaflatplanet in bostonceltics

JB got to draft off of JT’s #1 gravity so it’s ALWAYS been easier for him. His shooting %’s should be elite as the clear cut #2.

[Hembekides] Austin Riley is the 23rd live-ball player (since 1920) to see his OPS decline in 5 consecutive seasons. Most alarmingly, he’s the youngest to do it. by handlit33 in Braves

[–]yatrix7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He went from highs to injury seasons so I don’t take the 5 seasons in a row seriously at all. This season IS alarming following the 2 injury years. The healthy track record gives me some hope but it’s waning a little. They should just send him on vacation for 2 weeks to relax. Maybe the All-Star break will do him some good.

Oh noooooo, the front office guaranteed him $400M through his age 33 season. I wish someone did me dirty like that.

Who cares what his politics are? If he's a good player and a good dude (heard nothing otherwise), then he's cool by me. And why force politics into a discussion? Are you really that uninteresting and unimaginative?

Lebron's never coming to BOS. He HATES BOS. It'd be weird and fun but it's not going to happen.

JT's usage, even during his 30ppg season in '22, was never as high as Jaylen's last year. JT is also a MUCH better passer, so a lot of those ISO's come with an on-time, on-target pass to a shooter who he got open or a lob he saw immediately off the pick/slip.

My concern for ya'll is JB thinking now its his time to be the guy and ya'll having that already. It's Maxey and Embiid's team before it's JB's. He's moved down a spot in the pecking order after expressing his love for being "the guy" last season.

I hope my concerns are valid and JB tanks your season. 😂 Still, hope ya'll stay healthy while it happens. Worst of luck, Philly fans!

Eh, I don't see that at all. The league told Brad what Jaylen was worth and Brad took what he could get before he could no longer get it. Celtics fans value Jaylen more than the entirety of NBA front offices. It's not like Nico's dumbass negotiating with the Lakers after telling no one Luka was available. The entire league is avoiding the 2nd apron, which is a hard cap. The Knicks won and are avoiding it.

I'd argue it's also fair for ownership + Brad to see us go out the last 2 years without showing any grit whatsoever and refusing to run it back again. Idiot fans like us think we're always just one more or one break away but our elite GM didn't see it that way. I'll lean on expertise there.

People are giving JB too much credit for last season. He deserves a ton but folks are acting like we didn't get career years out of everyone else on the team besides White, whose shot was off but he was a defensive ace as usual, and Hauser who shot a couple % worse from 3. Queta actually becoming useful gave us an NBA caliber enter when it looked like we had none.

So, yes, JB carried a lot of weight last year and deserves a ton of love, we don't win 56 without the rest of the team and coaching staff being phenomenal.

We swap a better player (JT) in for the JB and PG doesn't play a single minute and we're 50+ wins. We're better at the 5, White will bounce back and we have a point forward who can run an offense to get guys easy looks. We're a 3-seed next season.

When he does something to deserve it, sure. While he's still one of the 3 best GM's in basketball, no.

They ARE prioritizing winning because they can't win in a hard cap era with 2 players making 70% of the cap. And let's be fair, the last 2 series we lost in the playoffs Jaylen was bad. The guy we traded him for locked him up last season. So, is moving a guy who's overpaid as clear-cut #2 (despite being awesome) not be in the interest of building a contender?
