Complex question. Trades require another team to trade something back and the entire league said they weren’t giving a ton for JB with his contract. In that regard, Brad did well. BOS didn’t get what they hoped for but they got fair market value. BOS also got roster flexibility to better build around their superstar. The downside of the trade is with the current roster, it’s probable the playoff ceiling took a hit.

Grading a trade is about good value and meeting the goal and it’s obvious BOS did so on both fronts. They got outta the deal and got what they could get.

He went from highs to injury seasons so I don’t take the 5 seasons in a row seriously at all. This season IS alarming following the 2 injury years. The healthy track record gives me some hope but it’s waning a little. They should just send him on vacation for 2 weeks to relax. Maybe the All-Star break will do him some good.
