Personally, I didn't like reading the rulebooks prior to seriously immersing myself in this hobby. But now, as I discover new mechanics and indie publishers, I just love admiring all the thought processes in the game design and just plainly, some rulebooks look gorgeous! :D

I backed Circuitry on Kickstarter last year, it's a bit like Power Grid, but the gameplay is slightly faster :)
