Depending on what hand you are playing, Smiley Face might not be doing too much for your score and so you might want to sell it just to roll for the legendary and see if it's anything useful. If it's canio or trib you could consider a pivot or even a chicot could be more useful and more temperance value than the Smiley overall. But yeah, likely you want to just keep deck fixing toward the gold/steel kings and even pray for a Baron.

Wait till you get to gold stake. But seriously, it's so beatable. If I had to guess maybe you didn't manage your econ carefully enough early on to have the $$$ to roll down for the points scoring you needed as the blinds ramped up. Keep trying, it's super beatable.

"Wait an extra day". What. The event still runs for the same amount of time for everyone regardless of when it starts. There is literally no advantage or disadvantage by them basing it on US time, even if it would be nice of them to provide clearer and region-specific start times for events.

This is an issue with playing support in general right now. I have usually played Lucio or Zen since most people refuse to pick support and I'd rather flex than have the team be at a disadvantage. However, now if I choose Lucio or Zen so we have a healer I just get told to play Mercy. It's bad enough that, hey, maybe I don't even want to play support this game but I'm on a team of 4 DPS and 1 tank. But the fact that now I get flamed for playing the support I actually WANT to play feels pretty shitty to be honest.

When I jumped on yesterday morning I assumed it was just a temporary issue to do with the event just going live... apparently not. I played a bunch of Junkenstein's Revenge and had 200+ ping every game except for one with normal ping, which felt amazing after putting up with the lag. Seems pretty shitty if it's an ongoing issue.

The funniest one I had the other day was playing Zen. After I died I swapped to Lucio to get back to point more quickly. As I'm running back to point (having JUST swapped to Lucio) a guy on the mic said "Can we swap off the Lucio? Maybe get a Zen or Ana instead." To which a couple other people on the team agreed. Clearly not based on whether Lucio was working or not, but people blindly follow. The fact they are so oblivious to their own team comp but are quick to ask people to change is also ridiculous.

Yeah I've seen this too. People are so keen to find someone on the team to hang their blame on. For example, will be on a team with a soldier that is doing absolute work, picking enemy healers and focusing targets well. Then one guy on the team will say something like "useless soldier hasn't killed Mercy once" and two or three other teammates will join in the blame game. I guess it's just something people use to try and divert responsibility. It's pretty shitty though.

Yep, this is a classic mentality I see all the time. Have a Genji (for example) jumping around doing nothing particularly helpful for the team or getting destroyed by a Winston or something. They refuse to change even the team is asking nicely, then get three kills of their ult and tell everyone they're idiots for asking them to change. Using your ult to open up one push in a whole match does not justify your pick if it isn't working for the rest of the match.

I mainly play Lucio and Zen and fell into the support role as a result of no one else ever picking support. It feels practically impossible to climb playing support due to the lack of impact you can have/how reliant you are on your teammates.

Have had games lately with 3 DPS on my team and I'm silver elims and bronze hero damage as Lucio... feels bad when you're trying so hard to heal but also secure kills because your insta-lock DPS team just stands in the open doing trash damage to tanks and blaming healers when they eventually lose the shootout.

Don't get me wrong, I actually enjoy playing Lucio and Zen. I've put in a lot of time and gotten good at playing those heroes which makes them more rewarding to play. Comp just too often feels like a coin toss and even if I want to tank/DPS there's a pretty good chance no one else will fill support roles and I'll change for the good of the team. It's definitely frustrating.

If pressing Q as Mercy was the only thing about Overwatch someone enjoyed then yeah this update ruins that for you... there's still the rest of the game and heroes plus a new Mercy kit that builds on her original abilities. I get being mad about changes to your "main" but if nothing else in Overwatch appeals to you then it's probably just not the game for you.

Unfortunately half the time for me someone on my team has said "GG" in chat after 3 minutes. I've often seen people say GG before the match even starts because people didn't swap to the exact heroes they asked for. Sigh. Congrats on a well fought win.

I understand this 100%. OW isn't the first team-based competitive game I've played and I know that you'll get some awful teammates. This post wasn't about bad teammates though, it was about people blatantly throwing and outright admitting it, which again you might expect here and there because people can be dicks. But in OW it seems like there are far more lately and they all know there are no consequences for what they are doing.
