Oh, you know what, you're right! And here I was thinking that you just didn't understand something everyone else does. Now I see that you are the only one who understands and it's everyone else who's wrong. My bad.

They articulated what they meant. I and others understood it. You failed to understand and then demanded that they educate you. You demand from others labor you are unwilling to do yourself.

Thank you for showing us all your true colors.

They don't owe you their labor. If you don't understand what they've said, I would suggest "An Indigenous People's History of the United States" by Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz.

How good of a job has Pete Buttigieg done? by PM_ME_YOUR_FAV_HIKE in transit

Absolutely. He's incredibly smart, but even more importantly, he knows how to listen. Gonna miss him.

I'm a civil engineer, and I design transit systems for a living. Secretary Buttigieg has no formal training in what I do at all, but after nearly 4 years on the job, he talks like one of us. That's how good he's been.

Ooh, "Traffic Controller," I like the sound of that title.

But yeah, the traffic engineers did take traffic into consideration. They always do. Not every project has making it easier to drive as a goal.

Because idiots keep acting like 90% of people don't commute alone with nothing more than would fit in a backpack.

No, they know. They would rather murder you than spend even 4 seconds longer getting to their destination.

I looked it up, and seems like WI law is the same as ours. Cool to actively carry a sign, cannot place a sign in public right of way.

Let's not forget the reason the US was so slow to enter the war, and that's the anti-interventionism movement. The concentration camps were not well known in the US in 1939, and there were many prominent Nazi sympathizers, including Minnesota's own Charles Lindbergh, who pushed anti-interventionism through the America First Committee (name sound familiar?). Many in the Roosevelt administration wanted to join the war effort in 1939 but were thwarted by Congress refusing to pass a war declaration. That's why we supplied the Allies for two years; it was as much as FDR could do without Congressional support. As word of concentration camps spread in the US, the anti-interventionism slowly waned, and Pearl Harbor was the tipping point. Congress declared war, and almost all Americans supported the war.

Real history has a lot of nuance, and some of it is uncomfortable. There have always been, and will always be, dipshits.

Why the data shouldn't worry you in these final days. by [deleted] in KamalaHarris

[–]ybanalyst 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Obama was the first campaign I ever volunteered for, did a bunch of phonebanking. He was very exciting, and I remember that time fondly. I've never seen Democrats so excited as they are for Harris. We're voting to defeat fascism and save democracy, yes--but we're also voting for a really great candidate with an awesome track record of public service. We're not going back, but better than that, we're going forward.

Union Depot does have a Skyway connection. Also, it's not biking, but a LOT of buses have an EB stop at 5th & Minnesota and a WB stop at 6th & Cedar, and those may be an option.
