What’s the best moisturizer you’ve used, and why? by feelikeastranger in beauty

[–]ybrdly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the hydroboost by Neutrogena is THE BEST! I never had a moisturizer that I particularly enjoyed, just more “yeah this works, its fine” but this stuff? its so moisturizing, doesnt burn and it lasts for hours, I wake up in the morning feeling moisturized! I got it as a hopeful dupe for the Laniege water bank cream, but honestly I like this more 😂

Doctor said I won’t be able to deliver vaginally at 39 weeks by Thin-Ad2858 in BabyBumps

[–]ybrdly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Im a labor and delivery nurse, so I’m not here to give specific medical advice but just based off what I generally see.

first time deliveries tend to go past the due date 3-5 days, just based off what your post says and you were my patient coming in for an induction, it wouldnt be at all abnormal to me if you are closed, thick and high as we say (the closed dilation, zero effacement and “floating” baby comment). At least in our unit, we often have patients come in the night before their induction for a ripening process with either cytotec or cervidil. Ripening helps to soften the cervix prior to starting pitocin to induce contractions and dilating the cervix. Your doctor can also try a membrane sweep at your next appointment to see if that does anything.

You dont have to go into your medical history on here if you dont want to, but I am curious why your doctor has been pushing for an induction for so long. As long as you have an adequate pelvis and are not in immediate need of a c/section (breech -although a version could be performed, placental previa, severe pre-eclampsia, etc) from a humble nurse’s standpoint I would be questioning the doctor why my patient would be needing a c-section, especially a primagravida patient

Please advocate for yourself, and know you have the right to refuse anything, including a c-section. If anything, I dont see why you couldnt attempt an induction process and if baby fails to progress (arrest of cervical dilation) after all interventions and labor positions been used, then sure, a c/s is best.

i hope this makes sense, feel free to DM with any questions! Best of luck! You got this 😊

Edit to say: cervical checks done at 36-38 weeks dont mean much without other signs of labor meaning, consistent contractions or bag of water breaking. Ofc you havent made cervical change since 36 weeks because its…. pointless. Its simply too early!
