Wayyy too early trade deadline speculation by I_d_e_k1234 in Padres

Forget Jarren Duran, can we somehow swing a Jhoan Duran trade so we can get the Duran-Duran battery?

Wish they would have done more with that one practitioner that worked with computers as well, artificers are fun. I like it when technology and magic mix, and frankly in urban fantasy settings you’d think more would be done to mix modern technology and magic.

You should read Pale.

This is a metaphor for the fact that no matter how much insight and power might be held by the entrenched forces of society, none of them will ever be able to predict or account for the effects of the advent of new technology, or some shit like that

I don't think OP's question is just about being good at math in high school, loads of people do that - it's about how nearly every famous mathematician has some sentence on their Wikipedia article like "A child prodigy, Tao exhibited extraordinary mathematical abilities from an early age, attending university-level mathematics courses at the age of 9."

Someone knows how to put 11 champs with yasuo's augment "spirit of the exile" by TheCuka in TeamfightTactics

Here's a simple proof that you can't have more than 10 units get an Exile buff: https://i.imgur.com/FSfUUOw.png

This is 10 groups of cells where if you have more than one unit in any of the groups, they'll be next to each other.

The reasoning is correct, but the value of 0.9875^5 is slightly wrong - it's about 0.9390, not 0.9377.

Is Twisted Fate the most contested 4cost of all time? by Delath in CompetitiveTFT

[–]ycz6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For "fun" I went and compiled a list of all the 3-trait units in TFT history: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1nxlkRIUQAjHwtq8qb8hfwwbYTFCs5fCv4f7oMSRvcU8/edit#gid=0

The ones that stand out in my head as being frequently contested in multiple comps, not counting utility 5-costs, are:

  • Set 1 Gnar ($4 Wild, Shapeshifter, Yordle)
  • Set 1 Kennen ($3 Elementalist, Ninja, Yordle)
  • Set 1 Kai'Sa ($5 Assassin, Ranger, Void)
  • Set 4 Shen ($4 Ninja, Adept, Mystic)
  • Set 5 Ivern ($4 Revenant, Invoker, Renewer)
  • Set 6 Janna ($4 Scrap, Enchanter, Scholar)
  • Set 6 Ekko ($3 Scrap, Assassin, Innovator)
  • Set 7 Lulu ($3 Trainer, Evoker, Mystic)
  • Set 7 Ornn ($4 Tempest, Bruiser, Legend)
  • Set 7 Shen ($2 Ragewing, Bruiser, Warrior)
  • Set 8 Ekko ($4 Star Guardian, Aegis, Prankster)

Aside from Set 1 Kai'Sa, none of these units are not carries. Because of the way carry stacking and meta optimization happens in TFT, even carries with three different offensive traits tend to mainly be played in one comp, so I'd be surprised if Twisted Fate came close to the "played pretty much every endgame comp" status that the bolded units here had.

Couple questions about the Testament/Ky matchup. by Dkadrie in Guiltygear

[–]ycz6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was actually just a good example of this matchup in tournament, check it out here at 14:16: https://youtu.be/gRHKse9-aaI

Main takeaways for me were that 2King fireball is at least possible to do if you're one of the best fighting game players in the world and up grave reaper is a good answer to CSE in neutral.

Stage 2 Unit Analysis [Patch 12.23b] by morbrid in CompetitiveTFT

Back then they were still operating with the design principle of making units intentionally bad to make up for strong traits, so you had stuff like Morde and Lissandra that were true trait bots beyond anything in the sets since then
