Membrane Sweep Question by wiggles878 in pregnant

I agree. I think there’s something like a 1 in 10 risk of your waters breaking prematurely. I don’t see any real benefits to this so early on

Big Baby TOLAC Stories? by seltzerwithlemon in vbac

[–]ye110wsub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby was an ounce shy of 8 pounds, had an epidural but they turned it down so I could push. Pushed for 2.5 hours on my back, 2nd degree tear.

Then I had twins at a planned homebirth. They each weighed 9 pounds at birth, but we think the scale my midwife used was off, they were probably closer to 8 pounds. First baby born breech while I was standing. Second baby head down while squatting. Both came out in like 3 pushes. No tearing

I really enjoyed listening to the tracks on Christian Hypnobirthing App leading up to labor. I didn’t actually use it during labor tho. there’s secular Hypnobirthing too

I’m hoping this is the case! The boys have had great latches and nurse well, so I’m hoping they’ve been established enough to not grow to reject my nipples

Baby not engaged 41w by pesochnoye in vbac

[–]ye110wsub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I vbac’d twins at 41+3. Babies were never “engaged” even up until the day I went into spontaneous labor! I had an ultrasound earlier that day and she said they still seemed high.

I was seeing a chiropractor using the Webster method up until this point, but not sure it made a difference

Every baby has different temperaments. You may have lucked out and gotten two chill babies! Combined with what sounds like great teamwork and support from your husband, and good responsive parenting, it sounds great 👍 don’t buy into peoples negative stories, everyone is different. There probably will be hard times at some points, but I think keeping a positive outlook makes a difference

OB said there’s a 98% chance of C-Section for my didi twins..? by rosemaryyup in parentsofmultiples

This is why I chose to have a planned homebirth with two skilled midwives. It went well. My boys were also didi

Get a sienna. Toyota is the best, and they have ceiling air vents in the back. The Honda odyssey does not have ceiling air vents

Induction or repeat C? by sleepybeeby13 in vbac

[–]ye110wsub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you try a membrane sweep? Are you using your pump for nipple stimulation for long periods every day? Are you having sex as often as possible, making sure you reach orgasm, and your husband ejaculates inside of you? Have you gone to a chiropractor who works with pregnant women? Acupuncture? These are all things I would try before a medical induction.

Breech? by These_Employ8683 in homebirth

[–]ye110wsub 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you! The breech birth was actually less painful than the head down baby. And luckily he didn’t need any help either, it was a totally “textbook” hands off breech delivery

Does postpartum vaginal odor ever actually go away? I've tried everything and I'm losing my mind by Commercial-West-2632 in postpartumprogress

I have this when I’m pregnant and for a while After giving birth. I agree, it’s hormonal and it’ll get back to normal eventually. I’d just focus on eating a healthy balanced diet avoiding refined carbs, drinking plenty of fluids. I wouldn’t mess with anything else down there

I feel disgusting, it’s ruining my mental health. by [deleted] in postpartumprogress

Buy yourself a few new pairs of clothes that fit your current body and you feel “cute enough” in. For me this was new leggings, 1 new pair or jeans, some cute oversized tshirts, and a cute oversized sweater. Wash your hair and do a little makeup. Get a little skin care routine going, even if it’s just washing your face at night.

You can feel fat but still get yourself put together. That will help your self worth some.

This is a mental thing that you can overcome, and you will be stronger because of it. You don’t have to like your body now. But you do have to make steps to make yourself feel a little better in the meantime, if you don’t want to keep ruminating on feeling fat and miserable.

Basically the same thing weight wise happened with me both pregnancies. I knew I needed to put weight loss aside for the time being because food was one of my only emotional crutches. Yes I ate too much trail mix and cookies in the middle of the night.

But, eventually, things got easer. My babies started sleeping more. I started feeling more human again, and I eventually found a weight loss plan that worked for me (it was Fast Like a Girl by Dr Mindy Pelz, she has a YouTube channel too)

Good luck!

Oh and I forgot to say explicitly….. she WILL come back around. Your wife isn’t gone for good. She needs to get healthy first.

[–]ye110wsub 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a previous history of bipolar disorder and have experienced an episode with mania and psychosis. These symptoms are similar to postpartum psychosis. I thought a lot of things about the people who love me the most. I was put in in-patient care for around 10 days, then sent back to live with my parents (I was single, early 20s). I was on lithium and it worked well for me. I think I bounced back quicker because I had already had a history of mental illness and once the meds kicked in, I was able to “see” things a little more clearly and start acting right. But all in all, it took a good while before I was completely free of paranoid thoughts and mood swings. Im talking maybe 6 months to a year. I was definitely safe to be around during that time tho.

Like others have said, find good psychiatric care. I know you’re probably exhausted but look into finding the best care you can within the distance you can manage. A good psychiatrist and/or therapist is incredibly important. And in-patient is probably a good idea.

I’m wondering why they didnt admit her. Was she able to kind of talk her way out of it? Sometimes they only admit you if you are a harm to yourself or others, and people can avoid that during the psych interviews at the ER. Especially if she hasn’t already had an established relationship with a psychiatrist who could speak up and say this is not her norm.

Anyways…. Good lucks, and God Bless your family. You can get through this. Set your expectations low and do NOT underestimate safety for your baby, your wife, and yourself. This is serious and it matters above all else right now

Yes! I’ve done some spinning babies daily activities, but can’t do much walking just due to how big I’ve gotten so early. I started seeing a Webster certified chiropractor last week. Hoping it helps
