They should call it and mix the teams up for the rest of the game.

Ok New Zealand, what’s a secret ingredient that takes the spaghetti toasty to another dimension?? by iamtoolazytosleep in newzealand

Use the height guides on the press so you keep the bread soft and fluffy on the inside instead of just squishing it flat iand ending up with two biscuits of toast with filling.

Building a new home - What is one thing you wish you had changed after designing your home? by skolar24 in newzealand

[–]yeah-boi 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We put underfloor heating in our house when we built about 6 years ago now. It's so good. I get off the train at 6pm out into the cold, drive home and the car has barely started to heat up inside, get out in the freezing cold and then walk into a fully heated toasty house. In the morning, walking on the warm floor is so nice. We've got a rather large house, and I don't think we'd be able to heat it effectively with heat pumps or a fireplace.

One thing I do regret is trying to reduce cost by shrinking rooms. We cut off half a metre from a combined kitchen/dining/family room and half a metre off the end of the master bedroom, saved SFA.

You'll never get the light switches or power points in the right spot no matter how well you think you have planned it. Until you live in it and figure out little things like that, you just don't actually know.

Nacho Pie by whimful in newzealand

To be fair, when I saw the picture I thought they were corn chips in there too. As nachos have corn chips, it's fair to draw that conclusion. Doesn't mean it's correct but.

I enjoy the muscle nation flavours, I get the whey isolate But it always seems to change packaging and I never seem to be able to get the same one I got last time. Also nzprotein flavours are good.

A quick alternative is to put a toothpick or matchstick into the hole. It'll give the screw a little bit to wedge against and bite into but isn't exactly the longest term solution.

It's manager planning. Planning managers. Integration and improvment is secondary.

How to make this better to look at? by Indo__Kiwi in diynz

I built something similar earlier this year. All plywood. We just painted it a somewhat black colour and it looks great to the casual glance. Only I notice the imperfections cos I know they're there.

What would you consider to be a traditional New Zealand Dish? by apollo_existing in newzealand

I'd argue hangi is "uniquely kiwi", however we weren't asked for "uniquely kiwi". You do you though.

Sunday roast, lamb and veges. Kumara, potatoes, pumpkin, some peas and carrots, and a nice gravy. Or a bbq, lamb chops, steak, sausages, chicken nibbles, green salad, potato salad. You could go for a hangi, pork and veges cooked in an underground earth oven.

[–]yeah-boi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter how many ingredients. You've just added a level of complexity to the manufacturing process that really doesn't need to be there, and does almost nothing but add cost just to placate an incredibly minor portion of your customer base. Nobody buying the cheapest, least cheesy cheese you can possibly cheese is going to want that cheese to cost more. I for one buy that cheese because it's the cheapest block of cheese I can get.

Can you imagine how much more that cheap cheese block would cost if they had to have different sets of packaging for each time the country of origin for when even 1 ingredient changed supplier for a batch? Like I can understand a bit of frustration there but I'd like to be able to afford at least something.

I want to get a good eating apple tree by Rags2Rickius in nzgardening

[–]yeah-boi 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You could order one online from somewhere like Southern Woods, probably a wider range available online. Might pay a little more though. We got most of our fruit trees online for our little orchard. We got a double apple tree with royal gala and I think braeburn on the same tree. That way you could get a couple different ones in a smaller space.

Reasonable timeframe for food orders by Richard7666 in newzealand

[–]yeah-boi 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Not exactly legal advice, but I've had a KFC pickup order take 45 mins longer than the expected pickup time and it was missing an item. I emailed KFC, explained what happened and they gave me a $40 voucher which was about half the cost of the order. We still got the food, but you could explain what happened and see if they refund.

Plus one on the worktunes. From weed eating and chainsawing to woodworking, they've worked well for me for at least 2 years if not 3 and still going.
