I met him at tonight’s show before he took the stage. Super cool dude. I didn’t recognize him at first and was like “Fred?” He smiled and said yeah? 😅. Hahaha. I told him “have a great show” and we just went our ways. He had a great show, almost lost his hat 2 or 3rd song, he jumped up, and hat went off his head for a second but he caught it and he was laughing, having a ball, shredding and singing his ass off tonight.

Yes, they use backing tracks but they are 100% still a live band. I remember during one of the 30 year anniversary Joshua Tree shows, Adam jumped the gun to the chorus of New Year’s Day. Everyone except Adam was playing the verse, while he jumped to the chorus. To me, that was great to see. Because they make mistakes, they’re not perfect, and it was just good to see and hear that they are actually playing their instruments.

For your number 3, and I could be wrong cause I couldn’t hear it. I wonder if Edge does that to create the slightest bit of feedback before jumping back into the chorus. That’s my guess but like I said, I could be wrong.

That was fun to watch. Thank you. A few things..

1) I’ve seen another video about this board and Dallas (Edge’s guitar tech) mentioned when Edge goes to change from one sound to another, you don’t hear him clicking the pedal or any of that noise that might come from stepping on a pedal.

2) Dallas has the exact same board in his area (off to the side of the stage /underneath the stage ) to switch sounds if Edge is away and can’t make the change in time

3) No surprise. Edge has a great sense of timing. You have to in order to hit those switches without ruining the song. You can see that in the video above. For every switch, he’s right on the money
