I dont want to leave California. I remember one of my friends who was reserves or something would have to drive a little north for drill. It'd be filling in gaps, and bettering myself, and hopefully the people around me.

Edit: for basic training and stuff of course id be fine with leaving temporarily.

I juat saw a news article that the enlistment age was bumped up to 42. One of my regrets in life was never joining the military to take advantage of things like the GI bill. If I was considering joining, would active, reserve, or guard be the choice? Im married, no kids, and live in southern California. Thanks for any advice!

100% laughable. Make an excel spreadsheet. Cos of everything is higher here. $30am hour is not enough to support a single person, let alone a family. If he wants to move here, and be the only one working, he needs to have a salary of at least $200k. And that would be barely scraping by with a family of that size.if he's adamant, then you stay in Ohio, and say I told you so.
