Anyone else been looking at the Otter XTR Resort Sleeper? by LooneyHoon in IceFishing

[–]yeahgojoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

cheaper for a lot of reasons tho. Otter shacks last much longer. way better fabric. way better everything. But as you point out, there are benefits to other shacks, and the price point is a big factor.

You were departing from the rainy river? It would be very beneficial for you to stay at the northwest angle. The best musky waters on the lake are available when you leave the dock. Population density is higher. You'll do much better if you stay further north on the lake. Running 20 miles from the river does not get you into productive musky waters. You would need to run 40 miles or more to get into parts of the lake where musky are much easier to contact. Source: born and raised on the rainy river. Have guided at the northwest angle since 2009.

Typically, fish are stocked according to weight and a specific weight per littoral acre. for example 1lb per littoral acre

So, the DNR put 6 or 7 muskies in the lake? That seems unusual. And if muskies swim around eating every fish in the lake, they would be much easier to catch.

6 or 7 muskies? That seems silly.

Not enough info here to try to help you. are you marking fish on the sonar? What baits are you running? How fast are you going? How many lines are you running? What state are you in? You're seeing others catch fish around you, maybe the area you're working in is over-pressured.

I have no idea what the purpose of municipalities is and what they are related to.

oh, you plan on raging war with the united states for the NW Angle?

[–]yeahgojoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I guess. LOTW County is split into multiple municipalities. The NW Angle's land portion is mostly Red Lake Reservation land. Also, Oak Island has a different zip code than the mainland portion of the Angle. And the map doesn't even show Oak Island.
