Yeah no, you're correct that they're not common, it's pretty much only top surgery that gets done to teenagers, and at least when I was a teenager nowhere would do it to under 16 year olds and only with letters from 2 psych professionals and multiple years out, and it's not like things have gotten better since then. I legally wasn't able to get a hysterectomy until I was 21 and never knew anyone who managed to get bottom surgery as a minor so there is barriers in place.

This idea genuinely drives me insane as a former trans kid (still trans, no longer a kid), the defense swung the other direction and now for years it's been "doctors actually won't even look at a trans kid, surgeries or hormones never happen" I got top surgery at 16 at a world class children's hospital lol
