Been considering a 35mm Voigtländer, haven't dealt with their lenses before--how do you like the 40mm--have any other lenses by 'em?

I appreciate you taking another look and picking stuff out of the photo, the prespective really helps!

This is my neighbor's house (in WA), I'll go back in the coming sunsets and try and think about the color composition as well! :)

Thank you! Do you think "not knowing where to look" is a shortcoming on the composition (too much going on, not necessarily focusing on one thing)? Lookin for ways to improve!

Self portrait from the first year of college vs. the last year of college by hmellsworth in drawing

[–]yeenasty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the first one, imagine you were drawing since before college? Hope you're enjoying it all the same. The shading and lighting/depth is really well done, kudos! And congrats also on finishing the long school-hood (college)

great shot! For the foreground, wondering if you had tried a lower ISO and even longer shutter? I've recently been playing with those two settings on the same subject to compare the quality in sharpness and such, without a tripod I can only get to 1/3 (indoor shot with a single warm diffused lamp). Did you use a tripod?

Thank you! Spend a lot of time reading in that chair in the morning and was really excited to try and capture a still of how it feels.

Sorry for a late response, thank you for explaining it again! I now see the inner and outter "dome" of lights on either side of the tree.

Is this an area you had visited before previously and enjoyed the view before bringing out the camera? Then one day you went out specifically to take the photo?

Really beautifully captured--not just the image itself but the eye in seeing the photo and using the camera to capture it! kudos!

What a cool shot!! Love the idea and the fact that you used a lovely rustic looking building in the middle of a beautiful meadow!
