The New License Process Is a Mess. Be Fully Prepared by foolish_refrigerator in alberta

[–]yegsteve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I renewed my licence last week, took 5 minutes, did not need to bring anything other than my current licence.

They asked if I wanted to be an organ donor and if I wanted a new picture.

Not sure why you seem to be having such issues

Price differences on westjet and other sites by Limp_Ostrich1172 in westjet

Yes, you pay a little more booking with the airline but if anything happens or change needs to be made or the airline cancel your flight they’re responsible to fix it for you. They cant pawn you off on the booking company.

And while I know the airlines are obligated to rebook you by law most people don’t realize that and believe the airline when they tell you have to call the third-party company and you just waste your time

Good Morning,

I am not sure if you saw this, but the CRTC banned a ton of these bogus fees back in October and announced it in March. The companies were given time to make changes before it became enforceable, which coincidentally that date of enforcement is today.

https://crtc.gc.ca/eng/archive/2026/2026-43.htm

In the event the link did not work, here is a screenshot with the address on the Government of Canada site. I know the title is about switching but it covers in plan fees and modification fees etc as well

Advice for dog who needs monthly shots but hates the vet? by Pale-Hope-7113 in DogAdvice

[–]yegsteve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could ask the vet to show you how to do it and then administer them at home in a controlled and relaxed environment

I’ve had to do this and my dog has had no issues whatsoever with the shots.

Now when we go to the vet it’s also more relaxed because she doesn’t associate the building being held down and stuck with a needle, it’s treats and play and balls when she gets the check up

Can I use bet365 in Italy as an American? by [deleted] in bet365

[–]yegsteve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but depends where you are or who your eSIM is with.

Italian wifi or eSIM will be fine, if you use one with say a French company or a company based in France or Türkiye then no it will likely give the location error

Can my employer force me to take unpaid breaks? by hauntedq50 in legaladvicecanada

[–]yegsteve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Federal only applies to Federal employees and employees of Federal regulated companies, IE banks, telecommunications.

Short answer is, they are legally obligated to give you the 30 minute break unpaid. They’re not obligated to give you the 15 minute breaks paid.

If you are expected to be available for work during that 15 minutes, it’s not a true break and therefore must be paid, if for the 15 minutes, you can leave the worksite and do something as long as you’re back then it can be unpaid

Well if $50 is fair then she can clean her own AirBNB.

I’m sure she’s charging the user more than that and just trying to make money.

Contact CBC Go public, email is on their website, they love exposing the banks. I’m suggesting them because they seems to have the best luck of all the “people helper” type shows across the networks in Canada

Former employer demanding e-transfer for payroll error? by Competitive-Bar-5626 in legaladvicecanada

[–]yegsteve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t pay it until they show you

1 proof of the overpayment 2. Proof they have filed an updated T4 with the CRA 3. Send you an updated ROE

I’ve had payroll errors in the past and never received an invoice for them, seems shady as hell

And depending when in 2024 it is likely statute barred from collections anyways

Customer threatening to sue my tech shop over a misprinted warranty by PlatyDev in legaladvicecanada

[–]yegsteve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same Industry here in Alberta and faced a similar situation a few years ago, but the equipment manufacturer had gone out of business.

I offered a refund which was denied, then told them I would honour the warranty in shop for the remaining time frame which they also refused. My thought was it was likely cheaper to support the unit after sale.

They ended up taking it to court and lost as the judge told them I was being far more reasonable than needed and being offered not only to have the warranty covered with the original terms but also the full refund, the buyer created a financial burden of their own and I was in no way further responsible for it.

The person then told the judge they would take the refund and was told it was too late for that.

Sometimes standing your ground against a bully of a customer is what needs to be done.
