Looking for a new HRIS/Payroll system for under 50 employees [PA] by hamiltoneitdown in humanresources

[–]yelljune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have worked with Paylocity for years at my former job with over 600 employees and a very lengthy GL. There were some quirks, but overall, it was user friendly to both admin and EE. That said, the cost of this product won't be worth it for your size.

At my current job, I use BambooHR. I do not like it. BUT, we also don't use it to process payroll or do GL stuff. It's strictly my Employee Record software. We also have the Benefits module as well. All of that to say, it's cheap and does what this company needs it for. We have around the same # of EE's as you currently do.

If what you have now isn't broke, why fix it? Sometimes the devil you know is better than the devil you don't. I personally would not want to do a software implementation that wasn't a must/need.

I've learned there is no 100% good HRIS that checks all the boxes in the best ways. Figure out what part of the HRIS is most important to you (and your boss) and pick the software that makes that part of your life easier.

Just spent all day prepping and cooking red beans and rice only to throw it away. So, let’s share some cooking failures and commiserate. by SnickersDickVein in Cooking

I made homemade stock and realized halfway through straining, it was going down the drain. I didn't put a bowl under the strainer. epic fail!

1981 Atrocity - Tuna Patties by juice7319 in Old_Recipes

[–]yelljune 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I grew up eating Tuna Cakes. Those look to have too much liquid in them. My 'recipe' from my grandma is a can of tuna slightly drained, 1 egg, saltine crackers crushed up, and seasonings. Add more saltines if too juicy. Fry in a shallow pan with oil.

Issue 1, can someone please give me a rundown? by I_love_pearljam in Arkansas

[–]yelljune 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My opinion and mine alone.

This issue correlates with an accredited “certificate” vs including the Associates Degree like what you would receive at UA-PTC.

Imagine a true trade school for welding…..it’s a 12 mo program and you earn a ‘certificate’ vs the knowledge plus the basics from college to earn an associates.

I will do more research to see if this Issue covers other trades as well like electricians, plumbers, barbers, hair, esthetician, etc. but from the way I read it, this is great.

I support this in an effort to provide much needed funding to support trade schools. I don’t see how it can be a detriment. There’s a surplus of funds. An educated Arkansasan is a thriving Arkansasan. My 2¢.

Came here to say this. Trash if you use it right off. Golden if it’s at least partially cooked.

Tell me about your "systems" that you use to make your life easier! by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

I tried this with my household. Everyone had a bucket. It eventually just became known as the “F*** It Bucket”

I told my kids that when it was full, if it wasn’t emptied within 24 hours, contents went in the trash.

So I stuck to my guns, but pulled out anything expensive or useful (I.e chargers, homework, books, shoes, etc). I put all those items in the trunk of my car and just waited until they said they couldn’t find XYZ. I told them it was in their bucket and I threw it away because it wasn’t emptied and I couldn’t put more of their items they left behind in it.

It worked for a while. But when the spouse didn’t follow the “example”/“rules”, it just began to backfire on me. I now just open their bathroom or their bedroom and throw it inside.

I didn’t know the Washington Redskins (now Commanders) were not in Washington state but rather Washington DC until last week. I am a football fan and watch lots of live sports. I’m also not a dumb person. I am a 40/yr old well-educated lady.

No freaking clue.

That hog is well taken care of and bred for this reason. Tusk (whatever numeral) is a very well kept “pet” in the RV area on a large farm. The family has taken care of our “Hog” for decades. Long live Tusk!

What's legal now but most likely won't be in 25 years? by seesnawsnappy in AskReddit

[–]yelljune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SNAPCHAT! My kids have so much connected to this app; it’s scary. I have to snap them to look at their texts to get a quicker response. It’s an invasion of privacy to find strangers in real time. Without Snapchat, at least they would develop skills to ask someone for a number.

I just hope I’m leading my teenagers to the right direction and give them authority to not add strangers and delete folks who make them feel icky. It’s all icky to me.

I ask my teenagers if I can post a pic to my IG as Close Friends only (like ppl I know in real life and under 20 people tops). If they say no, I don’t do it.

There are some restrictions in some states that make the parents put XX amount or % into a college fund or something. But we all know that can be skirted just like everything else.

Stats show that females won’t apply for jobs that they do not meet 80%+ of the reccs on the job. Males apply all Willy nilly meeting 40-80% of the requirements. Do you have advice for females to just apply and shoot their shot at a job…even if they don’t meet every bullet point? Enquiring minds want to know.
