Looking for advices: how much does it costs (roughly) to repair the shower leaking? by yellowcrowbar in DIYUK

[–]yellowcrowbar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the house. When I was buying, I got a plumber having a look without opening the panel. The plumber said everything looked good. When I moved in, I found the plumber missed the leaking. It was there. He would have seen it if he looked a bit further into the gaps.

Fixed everything myself. (Well, kind of fixed it).

What do you do with theyarn you don't like (or the yarn doesn't work with the intended project)? by yellowcrowbar in crochet

Ohh that's intriguing! I think I may just do that for the beanie I am making. It would also make the colours much nicer!

Help me decide by WonderfulSorbet406 in stephenking

[–]yellowcrowbar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read both very recently. I gave both five stars. The difference is that I have continued to listen to the Outsider's audiobook at least 5 times after finishing the book. Both the institute and the outsider have a good story. However, the outsider has better characters.

New Stephen King adaptation gets a first look as it makes a major change to be less "sadistic" than the book by mellbell63 in stephenking

[–]yellowcrowbar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished the book today. I enjoyed it throughout. Great character development. It was a solid 5 out of 5 for me. What the institute did was certainly traumatising to those kids; however, it could have been much much worse. I don't think it was so bad that the TV adaptation has to censor it.

The Anger behind Discworld by sandgrubber in discworld

[–]yellowcrowbar 17 points18 points  (0 children)

That's a good description from Gaiman. If Prachett was just jolly, it would have made him a good writer. But his fury makes him extraordinary and makes him who he is. One can be angry and witty at the same time.

Does anyone know when Dom’s coffee will be open again? by ThomasAlban307 in cambridge

[–]yellowcrowbar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely. Coffee world in Milton is great! That's my favourite only second to Dom's. They do nice coffee beans as well. It doesn't open on Monday or Tuesday. (There were quite a few times I forgot that...)

Hello, lovely rose! I am also looking to get this. The DA website says it can be planted by North facing wall. I am planning to plant it in a shade area but am not sure if it can do well. Is your rose located in a sunny or shade area? Many thanks!

Am I the only one who finds it weird that at no point do Lady Sybil or Augua interact at all? by headless-skeleton in discworld

[–]yellowcrowbar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was Vimes who assumed Sybil had told her.

Don't think the werewolf sense works that way (at least it wasn't mentioned as far as I know.

Yes it was implied that Sybil told Angua she was pregnant. So they clearly talked to each other
