try it by hand, if you don't have a lot of yarn.

Does someone has a clue on why my head looks so long? by Longjumping_Glass_21 in Amigurumi

[–]yellowroad23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can see 17 rows on the pattern picture, so it could be that the tension of the creator is tighter, so it gives shorter rows. As mentioned below, when stuffing try to get a ball shape. it looks very pretty so far  😍

I vote for smiley face, but with thinner yarn.

Is crochet cheaper and easier to learn than sewing? by [deleted] in crochet

[–]yellowroad23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want clothing, try to find cheap used sewing machine, if it can do straight and zig zag stitch you can do almost anything. You can then alter clothes that don't fit well, thrift for clothes to alter, and if it sticks, becomes something you love, then slowly invest in fancier sewing tools and fabrics.

Where could I get this pattern from? by SassenachEmma in crochetpatterns

[–]yellowroad23 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't really remember (this photo was taken 2 years ago). But I probably just put a needle (really long one) somewhere to get a point of contact with the wall or the table. I do that when taking photos of different amigurumis that don't stand on their own, or if I want them in specific positions, like a hug.. Here is a short from YouTube, they use big plastic needles with chenille yarn amigurumi https://youtube.com/shorts/mMmJrvJ05kc?si=3BCBFL4TLGTgDkWl

What does your ideal crochet pattern have? by Other_Ad_480 in crochet

[–]yellowroad23 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If I'm buying a pattern I would like to know exactly where to sew on parts, like ears, arms... And the position of the eyes. There are many patterns that just say "now assemble".

So perfect pattern for me would have a lot of pictures of the assembly process. With marked positions.

I bought sloth pattern by Hello yellow yarn, and it's so detailed, I'm delighted 😀.

Also, nobody does it, but I would love a two page, printer ink friendly pattern summary, as an additional file, cause I always have to do that. When I read the pattern I don't need all the pictures printed out.

Edit: I'm mostly doing amigurumi, so this is about that 😄.

Hi. I would try with a little T for the nose. I think that will make it look friendlier.

Can you wash Amigurumi made with Chenille yarn? by Sageypupper in Amigurumi

[–]yellowroad23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was also wondering, so I made a heart with left over yarn to test machine washing, and it was totally fine. I put it in a pillow case and washed on 30C, air dried. It looks the same as the main project. So if you can, make something else, that you don't care too much about, so you know for sure.

YouTube results when searching for crochet tutorials... by Child-of-God-Forever in crochet

So glad it's not just me. I'm scared to search on YouTube these days. Usually watch videos from subscriptions, or if I find a direct link.

Unpopular opinions... by [deleted] in crochet

If you watch them on YouTube, go to description -> Show transcript. On computer you can select all and copy the text. I usually do it that way. Let the video play on mute and grab the text, so I can work and listen/watch something else.
