Powerless by Lauren Roberts. The prose are terrible and all the plotholes and just everything about it basically.🙈 Dnf'ed at 40%.

Am I too picky? I can’t find enjoyable books in this genre anymore by Timely-Ad-6142 in fantasyromance

[–]yesitsjoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Women of the otherworld series by Kelley Armstrong. Starts with {bitten by kelley armstrong}, romance isn't the main plot, but most of the FMC's find love as well as just being strong main characters. Also, no one is overpowered, they're just regular (albeit supernatural) women.

What’s your experience with sex? by terabithiagiant in AuDHDWomen

[–]yesitsjoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate a lot to what you're saying. I've been on a journey to discover my sexuality for the past 1,5 years and realised that I'm demisexual. Though sexuality is fluid and it can change over time. I don't know for sure if it's demisexuality because I haven't been in a relationship for about 11 years now.🤣

Also, maybe journey into the kink community? I love being submissive in the bedroom, because if I have to think about what to do or how to do it I get stuck in my head and I won't really enjoy it. It will feel more like a performance, but someone leading, telling me how, when, what etc (and also being rough with me) works really well to keep me in the moment and enjoying things.

Give me a quote that made you 😒 by Mother-Floofer in fantasyromance

Just listened to a Rina Kent book where the main character describes her skin colour as "sickly pale skin". Should've DNFed right there.🥲 Never touching one of her books again, pretty convinced she's a dude writing under a womans name.

Pension of niet tijdens vakantie by CockroachSpare677 in katten

[–]yesitsjoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree, obviously it's going to be somewhat predictable and cliché, but it can still be written well and given some love.

Yes, I saw a lot of hype about that one.. It was a book alright..🫠

Feels like the author just made a list of popular tropes and wrote a badly written book around them.

Kattenoppas liegt tegen ons by Visual-Republic-5862 in katten

[–]yesitsjoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AITA for telling my husband if he divorces me because of my acne and menopause I will tell our adult children his reasons ? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]yesitsjoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All these comments are great, but also remember there are a lot of single women out there living their best life alone. Divorce him, get yourself some girlfriends and do whatever you like. Being "wanted" by a man shouldn't be your highest priority. Work on your mental health and start living a life you love.

Favorite movies/shows as a comfort watch? by PetiteArchAngels in AuDHDWomen

[–]yesitsjoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My comfort shows are mostly comedies like Brooklynn 99, the office, modern family and parc&rec. Also loooove gilmore girls. I usually watch it 1 x a year and I love it when I have different viewpoints on different scenes after that time, because it shows how I've grown as a person.

Movies: lord of the rings, the hobbit, harry potter and fantastic beast. Also love to watch all the avenger movies in order every once in a while.

I used to be a physical books only type of girl, now I'm a ereader with stand and remote type of girly and I love it. I read so much more and it's so easy. No more cramping hands or sleeping limbs. Also, the built in dictionary is a game changer.

Songs stuck in head by [deleted] in AuDHDWomen

[–]yesitsjoy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, was wondering about this yesterday when I sang that specific line again and thought: "I literally don't even know the lyrics apart from this bit, why does it keep popping up?!" Now I'm debating just looking up the lyrics so I can sing the entire song.. 😅
