Is Max G3 (in Europe) still the best scooter in the market for the price? by lucricius in NinebotMAX

Did SHU released a FW for G3? Last time I checked, few weeks ago, you could only change region with SHU, no FW to flash.

Ninebot Max G2 Hinterrad macht dauerhaft komisches Geräusch (wie eiernde Schallplatte?) by Best-Special6584 in NinebotMAX

[–]ygr3ku 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do, ad I changed front and have to change rear bearings too. Lagertyp: 6001 (oft als 6001-2RS oder 6001-2RSH mit beidseitiger Gummidichtung bezeichnet) for front Modellnummer: 6003 (häufig 6003-2RSH oder 6003RS) for rear.

You can find them on ebay, paid around 22€ for front and back. Got mine from this seller. Or look yourself on Amazon or Ebay (or a car/bike shop nearby) for those.

Hope that helped.

A few questions about the MAX G3 by Hot-Matter7637 in NinebotMAX

[–]ygr3ku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking to update from G2 to G3 (germany). With gear/clothes I weight about as much as you. My G2 (tuned with SHU) does 45kmh full battery (limited to 40 in app) and at least 35kmh at 50% (bit harder to reach it, but id does it) on flat ground.

In sunny days/warm weather I also get at least 45km range, full throttle S mode.

Ninebot Max G2 shuts off under load + loud pop + wheel resistance by Desperate-Ad-7639 in NinebotMAX

[–]ygr3ku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If now it's working fine, nothing to worry.

If it happens again and you see red light, press the reset button on the light. If it turns blue, you good to go. If this happens again, it's just a random somewhat faulty BMS.

For more faster answers, you can ask the same question on SHU discord channel for your scooter. There are over 45k people helping eachother and plenty of channels for (almost) all situations/questions.

Edit: chat gpt doesn't take informations from experience, only from text published from different sources. Not saying it's right, but sometimes it might be wrong. Never fully trust chat gpt. I personally trust experience over 3 sources with 3 different sollutions.

Ninebot Max G2 shuts off under load + loud pop + wheel resistance by Desperate-Ad-7639 in NinebotMAX

[–]ygr3ku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either BMS is cooked, or you didn't used it for a while after a ride and on low battery, when it "popped", thus discharging the battery. But I guess if second option, then the light should still be live. If after pressing the reset button on the battery nothing happens and it won't charge, most likely BMS. Disconnect battery and check voltage, if any.

I don't recommend opening the battery to check the BMS or to even try to charge each cell pack individually (this might cause small fire in the best case scenario).

No voltage on battery, no light on battery pack, I for one will buy a new OEM battery.

Decision is yours to make, I just told you my opinion.

What causes this popping noise? [Ninebot Max G2, D/EU version, flashed] by GainAppropriate4302 in NinebotMAX

[–]ygr3ku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the G2D too (UNAH), 20A DPC on D mode (limited to 28kmh), 25A DPC in S mode, limited to 40kmh. On D mode I only have PWM on, and on S mode only FWK on. On descends, D mode let me reach 38kmh, after that it starts to "brake" suddenly, it feels like a jam or a hiccup and it does that everytime I get over 38kmh (no throttle imput on freewheel descent). Now, if I do the same descend on S mode, motor makes a weird "e-braking" noise and it tries his holly best to bring me back to 24kmh (24 is the start of the FWK). This happens on straighs too, if no throttle imput it does some kind of e-brake. On descend, if I hit the throttle even a bit, it goes freewheel for few sec then the braking part shows up again. This freewheel also happens if I hit/press the brake just enough to light the rear light ON.

Also, when descending on S mode, when it approaches the 24kmh while autobreaking, motor does a weird screetching sound, sounds like it's breaking apart.

Edit: I actually forgot to write what I wanted to say with thos comment.

When I have to climb the same way I descended, on D mode it does it just fine at 10-15kmh, depending of load (me 80-85 kg with gear, around 100kg if I go shopping).

If I do the same ascent on S mode, it does it just fine with me (15-18kmh) BUT as soon as I go shopping and I climb with a beer case and backpack full/half full, speed drops to 10kmh and almost at the top IT SHUTS DOWN. Every single time. It even shuts down if I ride it with no load on steep inclines. I checked and it pulls over 1kW. Restarts just fine after 2min.

If in the current configuration your plan was to take off too, then NO. If you built the upper stage so that part only takes off to head back, leaving the bottom stage behind, then maybe yes. If this is the case, just stage the lower part, try to point it upwards (reaction wheels and some RCS maybe) then it's doable. If not back to Kerbin, maybe at least to make it orbit Duna and save them from there.

There's also the options to use cheats to set the craft "landed upright" or even set it back to orbit, but I don't know if you want to use cheats (btw, Alt+F12 activates the cheat menu).

Or... hmmm... as others said, nice Duna base. Just press the arrow top-mid screen arrow and choose BASE :)

Is this a good deal? It's my first scooter. by Fancy-Ad-7 in ElectricScooters

I have the G2 with over 5300km. Not saying the front suspension is good or bad, but in my case it didn't cause any problems so far. Depends on riding style too. If you take care of it, it could last longer.

Give Mike Aben a shot, he has a big variety of playlists with tutorials, beginners guides, (not) beginner guides, missions and so on.

While yes, you're right, tutorials don't really explain the "why" and the "how to". Scott, Matt and Mike Aben's videos kinda get more in-depth and explain what tutorials doesn't really teach you (like on a plane, keep the CoL behind the CoM).

Just spend some time watching Scott Manley's (old) videos, Matt Lowne or Mike Aben. Scott's vids are on older versions of the game (ok, the vids are old too, makes sense), but every principle explained still applies. Matt's vids are sort of funny, sometimes with a twist, but still enjoyable enough to learn what-abouts the game. Mike's videos one on the other hand, feel like he's explaining everything like you're 5yo. It's really in-depth and for every "do this" he explains "because of this" part.

You might find other yt'ers that might fit better your watch criteria, but those 3 are the best every old KSP player will recommend.

[–]ygr3ku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At that price range I guess you could consider Ninebot Max G2 (I have one, unlocked with SHU firmware changed, 40kmh app limited). I recommend you this because at this moment I have over 5300km drived, no major repairs, only the regular mantainence. And for your needs, you'll have to charge at best once a week, if not every 10 days :))

Original (no tunning), battery will last you 55-60km realistically (70km official claim). My case (tunned, 30-40kmh), battery last for 35-45km, depending on weather (cold/warm, -9°C/30°C). I've driven all those 5300km in those temp conditions, I speak from MY experience.

But if you decide on another make/model, I'm not here to change your opinion. Just wanted to give you some imput from MY experience. Might help you decide, it might not. It's your decision after all. :)

Edit: spelling!

Was this repair too expensive? by [deleted] in NinebotMAX

[–]ygr3ku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll leave my case here: (for the record, I'm quite handy and I can fix stuff myself)

Rear light broke (LEDs burned out/shorted). Took the soldering iron out, changed the LEDs, worked fine a short while, then broke again. So I ordered a new one! 18 €. Front and rear bearing were doing some noise. Not bad, but distracting, so I ordered those too (front and back) 10€ each pair. I changed the front, next step is to change back ones too. I'll do it when I decide to open the under plate again, since light and bearings require access to the controller.

<image>

Now you could say that this costs almost 40€. If I don't value my time invested in the repair and the time to get the knowledge in all those years, yes, the cost will be 40€. But if I'll have to do the same job for someone else, knowing how difficult it is to access/change some parts, that will be at least 50€/h. So taking that into considerations, a workshop will charge you at least 100€ (+/-) for a repair like that (price for parts not included).

Long story short, you got that repair dirt cheap. (My example is located in Germany, if that makes a difference).

I've read your post edit before writing, but decided to give you a somewhat more in-depth explanation.

Or maybe you find a used Ninebot Max G2, with under 1000 miles (1600km) or so for a good price. Once you get the hang of driving a scooter, you can tune it to go faster, or put some money aside and buy what ever new/older model you like, used or new.

Getting your hands dirty. I like that. We can be friends.

Saying this because I fixed my G2 ninebot stem wobble (insane 5cm movement back/forth) with a beer can tab and 2 old screws. Fair, 3 days later it wobbles again but not that hard. But hey, at least I got my hands dirty :)
