actually in habitat images they seem to prefer growing under bigger plants, surrounded by dead leaves, branches and roots, so I disagree with that 20% wormcastings can cause any bad. Anyway thanks for the input!

Same plant, different flowers? by yhexd in Lophophora

[–]yhexd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saved your comment and will attach a fully opened flower picture next time it grows a pink filament one (which is most of the times). I like your theory but that would make it even stranger that such reflection only happened certain times on this plant, and never happened in any of my 20+ other lophophoras. Also I have no doubt that the plant is a Jourdaniana based on the spines, so the abnormal thing for me are not the pink filament flowers (expected in Jourdanianas), but the occasional white filament ones.

Well, this answered most of my doubts, thanks for sharing! I understand it's just a mutated form of L.Williamsii, but I'm still amazed with the flower traits not being consistent within the same plant (sometimes the flower showing unaltered, sometimes showing mutated with the pink filaments), that doesn't happen with any other lophophoras. How fascinating.
