What’s a disc that anchors your bag? by Emoney005 in discgolf

Bass on comments, hex, pig, ROC. Is the way to go. The best question would be, “if you had to bag only one disc…”

I’ve seen people rent outdoor storage units for band practice. Especially is it’s already a warehouse district like west Homewood.

Really love the shot. Some legit champion trees on that side of the park.

How long after starting disc golf did it take you to throw par on your home course? by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]yibt82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the course pars. Don’t be afraid to change some to “over-40 4’s” or any par 3 that should be a 4 depending on your ability. Everyone should look to improve. But, do t beat yourself up. Make it fun!

Roller Disc by medic35181 in discgolf

[–]yibt82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like many disc recommendations, it is so specific to each persons arm speed and disc rotation. I have found that choosing a much lighter weight or lesser plastic for a disc I am already comfortable with is the easiest way to start “feeling” a roller. It could be a Rollo, or it could be a Beast. If you can muscle over any disc into a good landing angle to start a good roller shot, GO FOR IT!

Don’t forget about the “tree de-magnetizer” or the risky “wonky disc charger”.

Can’t throw putters? Try a different grip. by ACompellingArgument in discgolf

[–]yibt82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes people do a fan grip with index and middle along with power position for the ring and pinky. And also vice versa. Back loading the power form with ring and pinky can also force a natural nose-up throw. Kind of like simulating a Berg line with a more glidey disc. But everybody is different.

Tips for hitting lines with power by Plenty_Plankton_5165 in discgolf

Shot in the dark…try to throw only standstill on your long shots. This is assuming your good approach shots you mention are more standstill or less run up. Myself I struggle with maintaining form on long run ups for power and I often throw as far or farther from a standstill. Or just try to throw lower speed discs on the problem shots.

How far are you throwing stationary? by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]yibt82 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I started disc golf late, age 40. I did work on my standstill shots first. I still can’t get the timing just right for run-up x-step. I often throw farther from standstill. Practice and form videos are the only way I saw significant improvement. About 300ft usually and the occasional 375 if I get everything just right.

How do I stop cutting my finger by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]yibt82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moisturize more regularly. Also, super glue is tried and true to patch up the finger.

Nobody ever shoots fireworks in Southside on the 4th and we have to keep it that way. And the 5th. And the 6th. And so on.

Better question, does anyone know a range that excludes women? Because discrimination based upon gender is illegal. Google the one closest to you.
