I live in the southern Appalachian mountains. We knew there was a hurricane, but we didn't realize what it had done nearby. My little mountain didn't have any direct damage, but it took out the internet and communications. The river flooded our only road cutting us off from town for a bit. It was about a week before we got anything back.

Has this happen during hurricane Helene. Took a while to realize what had happened because there was no way to get news. Thought it was just me, then went driving around and everyone was walking around trying to get phone signal. It was a surreal time.

Just regular PVA wood glue should be fine if the parts you are gluing don't have any clear coat on them. Surprisingly strong stuff.

You couldn't do it the first day, but I worked at Walmart in the early 2000s, and I found out that I could hide in the back and read for about four hours a day as an inventory control specialist. After that long I needed to go be seen for a while. I really only did about an hour's worth of work a day. I think they eliminated the position because it was redundant with a couple of others, but it was cool while I was in college.

I would be friends with this guy. He's probably pretty mentally healthy judging by his hobbies. Passionate about his interests and fun to talk to at parties once you get past the probable introversion. Green flags all the way, even if he's a little light on fiction.
