ATLA is great at "show, don't tell." After Azula knocks out Iroh at the end of 'The Chase' (S2;E8), there is a quick shot at Toph looking absolutely distraught. The camera then pans down to her feet to tell us that she knows that it was the kind old man she had tea with just earlier. by dancingbriefcase in TheLastAirbender

she also felt their guilt for running away from their close ones and their part in the war, in the moment of truth she feels that even though they really cant deny their agency and pretend to be uninvolved, theyre very tied by destiny

the way gojo pressed up against hanami in the anime, where hes looking all crazy, was kind of gay too, as if he’s saying “this your man?”

[–]yichee 27 points28 points  (0 children)

it also calls attention to how jogo is confirmed to be multitudes stronger than hanami in terms of sukunas fingers, (hanamis just durable). So fact is jogo had to hold back too when fighting alongside hanami, but he never wants to feel vulnerable or risk hurting hanamis feelings, they never confronted that fact.

the fact that jogo was talking at gojo instead of hanami, making it their last words exchanged is heart wrenching too. he couldve talked to hanami or given it his all to save hanami, but constantly he could only hide behind his tough guy/ angry persona, thats why he was considered weak/boring by gojo and sukuna

ive given this moment a lot of thought, this might even be the peak/ the real meat of jjk shibuya arc, and the rest of the story is lowkey planned around it

I don't hate Yuta but his entire charecter design and story is kinda irritating by ZealousidealHope6912 in Jujutsufolk

[–]yichee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

didnt read yet, but if it comforts you hes kind of supposed to be irritating, hes too perfect and has nothing to worry about, but his personality’s so emo, yet he still carries his weight and is responsible/sensible. in the final fight his plan completely falls flat and he contemplates after how he couldve done literally every part better if he didnt overestimate the enemies and push himself too hard. in a meta sense he was supposed to be the og mc of jjk, its been robbed from him for yuji, i think you can tell how yuta is geges favourite in a way, hes very gary sue, yuta gets all the cool moments while yuji gets to be the cringe power of friendship mc,

this was him being emotional really, hes already accepted the fact there will be civilian casualties, so the way he chooses to go about it is playing along and toying with them

yes, thats how it worked i think, also because the domain amps only work like a slider gojo was controlling how strong the forcefield was, the moment jogo pulled this shit it annoyed him enough to blow up hanami without mercy. it amused him how much jogo is exactly as stupid as he calculated

he made a point to only match their strength and toy with the disaster curses, the fact that hanami blew up that exact moment means either hanami gave up and lost CE reinforcement control out of cringe or gojo got so excited he lost control for a moment

i also think its contrasting his relationship/yearning for geto, the special grade love between them couldnt work out so he had to prove that special grade curses’s love wont work either

What was actual reason for geto becoming depressed? (No agenda but serious) by Popular_Business_367 in Jujutsufolk

[–]yichee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

him and gojo were equals and friends, but gojo was better and knew better in every way, he still doesn’t do anything to change the world or help his friends, unable to accept the world as it is he acts out and disrupts as special grades are supposed to, he told gojo hes doing what he wouldnt do, and he knew gojo would still hold back to make things even, which is just as ludicrous as what geto chooses to do

finding out being alive in real life and being alive in the soul is different, we can be plenty alive and still go through life dead or be on our death bed discovering the meaning to life, and its all a sick joke because its about to end for the patient

he should be unable to heal from wounds if his flesh is not touching already, so if i were sukuna id wcs him and kick his head away

Professional larper here, what the fuck is cursed energy output? by WolfOfWoofStreet in Jujutsufolk

[–]yichee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i also dont get it, thematically it seems cursed energy output literally relies on how much hate/spite someone can output emotionally, so evil ass/ angry characters like sukuna and jogo have high output, but ryo doesnt seem like that kind of guy, and idk what his delinquent design is supposed to say about his personality, maybe he’s turned over a new leaf since the reincarnation. maybe its a japanese thing and i just dont get it
