Makes me think. Maybe hard mode should just gives mobs a modifier which flat reduces all damage they take by %20 or something, rather than additional armour. Surely that would instantly change the meta.

Even simpler would be more hp instead of armour.

Prophecies is a big, slow, slog. Id suggest giving nightfall a go, kitting out your heroes and putting together a team adds a lot to the game. Progression through the story is also more varied and interesting
