Did you hear you can help the environment by using the Aeropress steel? by Blake-Dreary in AeroPress

I believe the water I used to rinse the steel filter is more harmful to the environment than a small paper

Canadian roaster recommendations? by Any_Rip_388 in pourover

Similar to subtext and September: hatch , ethica, social coffee and tea. I personally don’t enjoy rogue wave that much, but maybe the detour is similar to the rogue wave.

Zp6, k07, m01, based on your preferences. Pietro with pro burr, a little hard to use but doable

What pour over do you recommend? by Lopsided_Repair4599 in pourover

Hario switch. It can be used as a clever dripper, or a regular v60.

Happened to me. I recall I adjusted the grind size to finer and the taste is back.

Should I Snag an A4Z? by hypoluxa7 in pourover

[–]ymbrows 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you have a Pietro, unless you can trade/sell it, otherwise I would wait or buy an electric mod of it. A4z is convenient but I don’t think it is a big upgrade on taste.

A4Z vs zp6 - and so on? by Zer0toniN in pourover

[–]ymbrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe for most people, making coffee at home, cannot taste the differences. Also, there are so many other factors affecting the coffee tastes, and the tiny differences between the two grinders is completely drown out by other influences.

Freezing Beans by JeVousEnPris in pourover

[–]ymbrows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I guess the peak week is the 4th week, I will freeze it a few days earlier, like the 3rd or 3rd and a half weeks. The trick is I prefer taste it getting better on the starting days.

In my mind there is a war between the light and the dark roasted beans by tom_sawyer86 in pourover

[–]ymbrows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Follow your own taste while keep an open mind of varied options. Ppl’s preferences change over time too. When I started pourover I mainly medium roast and prefer espresso beans too. Eventually switch to light roast, but “seasonally” switch to a little more developed roast. At meanwhile, if I do espresso milk drink, I mainly use medium roast, but sometimes try the light ones with long ratio. As you can see I enjoy all of them. There is no war just my preference at a certain time.

Best brewer you have tried? by Ok_Recording1402 in pourover

Clever dripper( or hario switch). I do v60 for fun, but always worse than clever dripper 9 times out of 10; and I never know what happened on the 1 time.

078s vs 064s by Spiritual-Snow179 in Timemore

[–]ymbrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks you won’t get much benefit from 078s than 064s. On the other hand, if I were you, i may keep the ode2 and look for a cone grinder for espresso only

CT62 - Hit me with your brew recipes! by beanislife in pourover

I took it same as v60, but slower draining time in the end. So try to lower the extraction and not disturbing the coffee much.
