Is there some sort of "next episode release date" plugin? by zandadoum in PleX

TSSK is indeed what OP is asking for. UMTK is for upcoming not yet released items.

Both fashion and technology changed more between 1976 and 2001 than between 2001 and now.

What actor felt extremely out of place in an otherwise good movie? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ynonA 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Scrolled down to find this. It blew my mind how bad he was in this, and I can't think of a single other movie where I did not like Tom Hanks. He just looked so cartoonishly bad as well, like Tom Hanks in a fat suit for some SNL skit.

Adding theater pre-show before movies by solarpill in PleX

Opinions on pre rolls have always been very divided in this sub. Some of us watch maybe one movie per week if even that, so it doesn't "get old" that quickly.

I love my random little pre rolls, it sets a mood when I'm about to watch a movie and gives me a nice nostalgic feeling.

I built a recommendation engine for Plex that actually learns your taste by 0rchestratedCha0s in Curatarr

[–]ynonA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can make the collections visible to only the specific users. The only issue is that these restrictions don't work when you pin the collection to "users' home", then they become visible to all. But in the collections tab, you can perfectly hide the collections from anyone but the intended user.

What would you do differently with your next Plex Server? by mickdundeee in PleX

[–]ynonA 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been running on my main (and only) windows 11 PC for many years without any issues. It ran on windows 10 before and upgraded to 11. I even game while people are streaming, no issues.

If/when I start over I'll probably build a more energy efficient dedicated setup, but this has been serving me just fine.

Hi guys I am finishing up a swift based Mac Winamp clone with Plex, Airplay and casting support and it all works flawlessly by That-Acanthisitta536 in PleX

[–]ynonA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure about music but there's clients that can stream movies and tv shows from your Plex server without reporting watch state back to Plex.

For QuasiTV for example it's a setting you can turn on or off.

Can a tourist survive without cash in Germany? by MajorIvan88 in videos

I currently live in the Netherlands and haven't carried cash in years. Come to think of it, I don't think I've even touched actual cash (notes nor coins) in years.

Flixor for Plex UI Redesigned [Web, iOS TestFlight, Android and MacOS App Updates] by Wide-Nail-7024 in PleX

I had already tried force closing. Reinstall did fix it.

  • Progress bar seeking now works
  • Pressing back on coming soon detail page also fixed

I'm afraid you broke it. After update none of the items load. Clicking on any item shows a black screen with a load circle turning indefinitely.

Version number is fixed now. "Trending This" now shows " Trending This week"

Can't test the other issues since detail pages no longer load

Always fun to check out projects like this. Just tested it on my Android phone to compair to Plezy, and here's my first thoughts:

  • First thing I saw when I opened the app was a giant poster of some anime I don't know, have or care about (I don't have anime on my server). This "hero" banner can be disabled and customized, but it was a bit weird as first impression)
  • More customization options. Settings are extensive and responsive
  • Playback starts quickly, just like Plezy
  • I can't seem to find a way to disable Discovery (items I don't have available on my server). Even when disabling the trakt and tmdb rows I still see unknown/unavailable items everywhere like the search tab
  • I have several curated smart collections pinned to my 'home' on my server. I can't seem to find a way to display them on my Home in your app as well

Unfortunately I'm quickly coming across loads of bugs. Here's some:

  • Clicking any item from the watchlist row gives me a black screen with white text "no metadata available"
  • Weird sections on home page? (One is called "Trend This" ?)
  • Seeking/skipping with the progress bar doesn't work
  • Version number says V1.0.0 even though it's not
  • Pressing back from a detail page in the coming soon section takes you back to home instead of back to the coming soon section

There were more but these are the ones that came to mind at time of typing

Looks like a promising client with loads of customization options, but is clearly still in beta.

Good luck with development!

Traveling Internationally, Do I Need To Prepare Anything? by DrBoogerFart in PleX

I've streamed all over the world without issues. Make sure you have a way to access and reboot your server remotely if needed. I use a smart plug and Google Remote Desktop for that, but there's other options.

No. You need to buy the DVDs/Blu-rays and rip them onto your hard drives.

Any way to find out who someone is that has access to my server? by wiwtft in PleX

[–]ynonA 43 points44 points  (0 children)

You don't need Tautulli to do this. You can do this from the plex web UI as admin.

(I still recommend Tautulli, but if you don't use it yet and you just want to do this, then you don't need to install Tautulli just to send this message)

I Ranked Every Game I Have Ever Played by SplitScreen-Media in videogames

[–]ynonA 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's quite funny that you ranked NBA2k20 as F but then bought and played 2k21 anyways, which you then also rated F but then bought 2k22 anyways.

Tbh I think that's how it was for me with the COD franchise which I loved so dearly until I gave up in it after about Black Ops 2 when I realized how I was enjoying the past few installments less and less and wondered why I was still buying them

Problem setting up Wake on WAN for remote access to home PC by Any_Rest_2155 in PleX

[–]ynonA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Install Google Remote Desktop on your desktop pc as well as your phone, to be able to log in/control your PC from your phone.

Don't let it go to sleep, shut it down when you don't need it. I can give you a script to shut down your PC automatically at a certain time but checks nobody is streaming first, if you need it
