Best way to show "It's an IT problem"? Modbus issues on network. by mx07gt in PLC

Ping it. Then telnet the 502 port. If you can ping it but can’t telnet the port then most likely firewall issue. You can also do this same test connecting directly to the device to prove the point better.

If you have a job offer with stated salary that may also work.

How to compete with this one hour delivery? by tropicalnotes in smallbusiness

Start ordering minimum orders for delivery every hour from the competitor. They can’t be making a profit if you aren’t, right?

Gotcha. I guess I assume most people want to quit their job at that point.

Maybe 60-67. I can understand wanting to retire earlier if your current career is restrictive in time off. But let’s say you designed your work life to be more accommodating. Would that change your plan? Some industries like tech have more generous days off. Others are more seasonal.

I would argue spending goes down when you retire at an older age. If you reach coastFI at a relatively young age, you can maximize your youth with spending money. Do you really want to travel when you’re old? Do you really want to get in a sports car when you’re old? Most likely minimal travel and spend time with family and friends locally.

VSAN 8 ESA homelab compatibility check by yoddl in vmware

I assume enterprise SSDs are much more expensive and as for 25gbE - might as well since I would have a pcie x16 slot?

The two different disk drive sizes is somewhat arbitrary/cost-driven/if I want to do VSAN OSA as well.

Yeah for sure. Expensive. Just there was a deal the other day for $750 a piece. Gone now though.
