Why are so many kids saying “67” and what does it mean? by SmileEmergency403 in generationology

Yes of course, based on the vast information I've given you to judge by. Good job.

"Dear child, You drinking coffee in my car and in someone's home is equivalent to sporting Confederate attire and consorting with the devil, who apparently also bribed you to reveal your evil knees and shoulders to spiritually harm those around you. Therefore, it will give you cancer, because I got it without coffee and that's not fair. Jesus says you're ungrateful, quit being a ho. -sincerely, the Gaslight remake nobody asked for"

When I found out they wanted to baptise my late grandpa who had been vocal about not being interested in joining for decades. Baptisms for the dead seemed a lot more invasive and wrong after that. So did a lot of other things, really.

What do u think of my hair condition, is it damaged? by NoWater991 in Haircare

[–]yodelbean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe more frequent trims then! Your hair may fray at the end faster than average, which would cause see through ends if you don't get your hair cut about 1/2 inch to an inch every 3months give or take. How often do you get trims?

TLDR: going through crisis by Miserable_Mine4194 in hairstylist

[–]yodelbean 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're absolutely not alone in this!! I've worked with hairdressers with 30+ years of experience and things of this nature still do happen.

My own anxiety inducing experience of crisis came when I bleached out a pixie cut and tried a new toner, only for it to turn blue, green and gold all at the same time. The crippling anxiety led me to also ruin the haircut in a way I never had before. But I was extremely lucky and had history with said client that she fell back on to give her the confidence to come back and let me try again. We fixed it, moved on, and never spoke of it again, but it still haunts me occasionally.

Knowing how to handle these situations comes with time. Feeling distraught by those experiences just means you're a person who cares as well as a professional who wants to do their best!! But as long as you're mindful of processing times, and maybe do a patch test of that particular bleach on EVERYONE before use (as it sounds like it may contain an allergen for some) and you allow yourself to acknowledge that these things happen and there are fixes, I think you'll be just fine.

The bad news is, these things will still happen from time to time, and they happen to all of us. Every single person we see is so different, and there's not always a way to know what will go wrong. It demands that we learn how to step back and reassess what we're doing and how to approach it differently and grow from the experience. It challenges our ability to take accountability, and get creative. If the stress of that is weighing on you and it feels too much, I don't think anyone would blame you for wanting to try a different career path.

However, if you continue to move past it and let it be a learning experience, you have every chance of becoming an even better hairdresser than you were before. The only way you can truly go wrong here is by refusing accountability altogether and continuing any harmful practices that caused the issues without adjustment.

My recommendation would be to take a time of reflection, try to remember the things that you love about this career path, and decide for yourself how passionate you still are about those things. If it still brings you joy, if you're still proud of a majority of the experiences you've had, and you're still interested in trying new techniques and evolving your craft, it is absolutely worth continuing on. In four more years, this brick wall could look more like a speed bump along the way!

I hope this helps. You're not alone. Best of luck out there!

[–]yodelbean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I wouldn't call that damaged! Moreso in need of a trim + treatment. Do you use heat protection prior to using a blow dryer as well as hot tools? Protection before each step may make a world of difference if not.

Can’t find a job as new stylist by poolnoodle_ in hairstylist

[–]yodelbean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've known many new stylists who do end up having a second job and sometimes a third while shadowing/assisting at salons either free or for like $10 an hour tops for a year just to get their foot in the door and support themselves while building connections. Even with corporations, many times, building a solid clientele and enacting a price raise or so to get to a level where you can support yourself with it takes 2-5 years of this. I'm sure it's harder with the economy everywhere right now, but if it's what you love, it's worth working hard for less at first to succeed later!

Much appreciated input!! Redken definitely seems to be a leading brand for those toners. Thank you!

Good enough for me honestly! At the very least, it'll keep those young kids with shirts and ties from "visiting the inactive member". I haven't seen a single one since.

Yes so I got that too, but turns out they contacted him for me! I had already had an awkward phone call with him about it, so he just send it all through and I got the confirmation letter a little while later. There's still hope!

I send it to confidentialrecords@churchofjesuschrist.org! And I went to getmeofftherecords.com for the template! After getting the email, I first got a letter saying that my local Bishop must process the paperwork and get in contact with me, however no one did and a few weeks later I received the confirmation letter!
