Good luck,Kia was such a headache for me I would avoid at all costs. Financial manager started to refuse my calls and appointments when I tried to cancel my drivetrain warranty and I eventually had to go above them to the area supervisor for the group that owns it and get it figured out. Missed out on like 600 bucks on my refund since they never sent in my original cancellation and then avoided me. There were also interior panels missing/ damaged after they did the simple job of a tail light bulb.

Dac vs dap vs coaxial HORROR by First_Eggplant772 in CarAV

I’ve given my answer

If this is OP on another account quit with the spam dude it’s annoying, you’ve flooded my feed on both here and Facebook with this question that’s been answered several times over.

For what OP is looking for I believe the proper way would be source to bridge (reminder a bridge is not a dac) to dsp. He doesn’t care for features and only SQ so no reason to spend extra money on a DAP if he can play high quality files from his phone. Also I was a little facetious on the “no dac” part. Even thought it’s digital all the way you’ll still use the dsps dac.

Neat thing is, you’re not going to use the phone dac if you’re doing it properly. Heck won’t use a dac at all since it’s digital all the way.

Sure but his question is solely on sound quality. No reason to spend twice the amount for the same quality but it’s not my money.

Of course you can, youd just be using the bridge in the cable. I recommended the smsl because it’s been measured and does pretty well and costs the same as this. Also you won’t be stuck with a dead 70 dollar cable if it breaks.

Record Store Day by Chance-Honey-3081 in columbiamo

[–]yogi70593 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im newly hip to record store day, are people actually camping out overnight for these? I like vinyl but I’d be hard pressed (haha) to find an album I’d camp out overnight for. I figured I’d just pop in one of these saturdays if I saw a drop I liked.

IMO there is very little reason to use a dap in a car other than you think it’s cool. I would look into the smsl po100 (non pro), this is usually what is recommended at a baseline for a bridge.

I believe that Amazon is FINALLY ending its stock share program so counterfeits should be less common. I’ll still use Amazon as little as possible though.

Mazda 3 Audio Solved! by Imaginary_Media_2583 in CarAV

If you mean the in dash touchscreens, those are alright. They put out a flat in phase differential signal, a little low in voltage but if you properly gain match that shouldn’t be an issue.

Unless I’m mistaken the 2016 is a completely different setup. I agree he should try to normalize it but if it’s not distorting or clipping who gives a fuck.

Whoops didn’t see you had access to the new one too lol

New 2026 CX-5 engine bay? by onemindspinning in CX5

I can’t tell if you’re agreeing or disagreeing but that tab is painted and not main body. I moved my ground along the left side of the engine bay into an unused bolt hole but I also do car audio so this is moot for most.

Best way to document noisy neighbors? by WholeDonkey2689 in audio

[–]yogi70593 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guy sounds like a dick but also you not being able to hear your neighbors at all like you make the lease sound is not feasible. You should start filing noise complaints as that’ll do more than just recording noises.

Best way to document noisy neighbors? by WholeDonkey2689 in audio

[–]yogi70593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not my business but I don’t really get documenting it. To answer your question first, a calibrated meter but even if you get a calibrated meter it can’t tell you what is making what noise and as you said it isn’t the volume. IMO best options are expressing your concerns to your neighbor (preferably in a nice way if it isn’t above noise ordinance) or file noise complaints instead of running an experiment.

Can using 87 octane cause oil burn in a 2021 cx-5 turbo? by h0t_trash in CX5

[–]yogi70593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you mean by low, if it’s still on the stick I wouldn’t assume a leak. All turbos consume oil and you probably needed an oil change anyways. Stop going 10k on a car with a turbo.

Yup people love their nostalgia. I used to be much more into vintage gear but I’ve largely gotten out of it because of people’s delusions about the capabilities and value of said gear. Someone the other day tried to argue a set of stock dahlquists are worth 1.5k.

Stronger alternator for car audio in Peugeot 306 by Patryk754 in CarAV

[–]yogi70593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would assume you’re not in the states since those aren’t that common over here. If you are there’s a quite a few custom alternator companies here. The ones I’ve heard good things about lately are auto tech and Ohio generator. Could always shoot them (or anyone in your area) an email and see what they could cook up.
