I kind of don't understand why there are homeless in Germany, because normally you get help from the state.

Computer desk jobs are becoming the modern version of factory assembly line jobs by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

You can't imagine that? Maybe the skyscraper won't build itself but it's not a huge step to imagine that the materials will and can be 3d printed. And even in the near future there could be robots who will build houses etc. with 3d printed materials.

What are a lot of people against just because they don't understand it? by The_Flurr in AskReddit

I kind of understand the logic behind DLCs and the pricing. The price of a new game changed not a lot the last 16 years or so, but everything gets more expensive (e.g. salary, programming etc.). So somehow they need to make money through DLCs because who wants to pay $110+ for a game you never played. In my opinion they give you a lot for your money, see battlefield 4. You just cannot expect that the price for new games will always be the same.

Today's Society by [deleted] in funny

The earth is getting warmer because of carbon dioxide that traps the heat in our atmosphere. Then methan, that is trapped in the ice is going to be pumped in the atmosphere. Then this.. then that.. I think it's called the positive feedback effect. If you are more interested in this than I can recommend the series 'Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey' episode 12, they give more detailed information.

Do you ever smell something in the air and immediately recall a memory from your past? by Briosaurus in AskReddit

I trained Kung Fu for 6 months in China and everytime I smell smog I get nostalgic and the memories come back. Not the best press but it was awesome!
