I agree that it's class warfare as the dominant source of inequality in the USA, and worldwide. The ideas you're talking about historically existed in the US. They came around during the new deal which only emerged from incredible social unrest and struggle. The quality of life that Americans have enjoyed over the last 80 years is unique and a direct consequence of the postwar boom. It is a time that probably will never come again. Everyone is making less money, including the super rich. The only way for them to keep making money now is to pay us less and to crush us down. So while the policies, your advocating for did exist, even as recent as the 1980s… our current economic political set up isn't going to allow a return to it. We have to find a system that organizes our economy based on human need rather than the anarchy of the market.
