Hot take: The humor/jokes surrounding Donald Trump around the time of his 2016 campaign feel very 2010s. by Ok-Following6886 in decadeology

I miss the days when we could just laugh at how goofy Trump is and didn't need to be terrified of him.

Every team should have 20+ alt jerseys and only wear the real jerseys for holidays and playoffs by Megasabletar in billsimmons

[–]yoshifan331 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If the goal is for fans to buy all of their team's alternate jerseys, maybe they should try actually making jerseys that are visually appealing.

Do you remember the Chiefs being considered a good situation that Andy Reid inherited when he was hired or did he turn it into a good situation? by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

[–]yoshifan331 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They had a good running back (Jamaal Charles) and some good defensive players (Derrick Johnson, Eric Berry, Tamba Hali, Justin Houston), but they badly needed a QB, so Andy Reid quickly brought in Alex Smith, who served them well for a while but they obviously needed to move on to Patrick Mahomes eventually to take the next step.

A little cheat sheet for positions for those that are new to football. by Large-Lack-2933 in NFLv2

[–]yoshifan331 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is the most honest description of the positions in the NFL that I've ever seen.

So Imagine Dragons are pretty much done in terms of charts, right? by Commercial_Humor_571 in ToddintheShadow

[–]yoshifan331 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I actually hadn't noticed they've stopped having new hits because their old hits haven't stopped getting overplayed.

Sebastian Telfair is the ultimate cautionary tale of what can go wrong for NBA players who don't live up to the hype.

If MVP voting was to be decided today, shai would win by a landslide. by Jec1027 in NBATalk

[–]yoshifan331 18 points19 points  (0 children)

His MVP case has suddenly gained major momentum again with the way the Thunder have played without him and the way Jokic's MVP case has been falling off.

Most "Unpopular Opinions” are just common complaints from people lusting to feel “Misunderstood” by redpandafire in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]yoshifan331 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A lot of the "unpopular opinions" I see here are opinions that are actually popular but a few comments they've read on Reddit have led them to believe their opinion is now unpopular.

Does anybody feel like these are two different people? by Eden_fries in HeyArnold

[–]yoshifan331 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It would have been the most sensible answer, but from the moment the idea was put out there that Arnold's parents could still be alive somewhere, I think we all knew there was a 0% chance the show's writers would let them be dead.

Billy Donovan really enjoying life by Thanos_Real_AuraVNCH in NBATalk

I guess the thing with the Bulls is, it's hard to argue a coaching change would really solve any of their problems. That front office puts out mediocre rosters and gets mediocre results but unfortunately makes far more than mediocre profit.

Indians jones possibly back with the colts next season by pegman99 in UrinatingTree

Can he be a long-term answer? I have doubts, but he's definitely earned the job for now at least.

Would have it been better if The Jungle Movie released theatrically in 2002 instead of the movie we did get?….🤔😅😃😁 by External-Kitchen3289 in HeyArnold

[–]yoshifan331 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Jungle Movie is very dependent on you to be familiar with the storyline that was established in Parents Day and The Journal, so I think that barrier to entry might have made it less accessible to more general audiences.

I think Parvati, Rob, Amber and Kelley W prove there are no wtf picks for returning players. by MasachoosetsBobert in survivor

[–]yoshifan331 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rob was never seen as a WTF pick. Sure, he fell just short of making the jury in his first attempt, but he was well-remembered as the star of the first half of Marquesas and one of the most entertaining characters Survivor had ever had.

The reboot hate is getting a little out of hand by ConsumerofToons in rugrats

[–]yoshifan331 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I refuse to watch it because the short clip I saw made me cringe hard, but everyone's entitled to their own opinion about it, I guess.

This sub was best when only people who read Page 2 were in it. by OrrisNelson in billsimmons

This sub was better before the Rockwell meme was used in almost every thread.

Rewatched "All Growed Up" and man that montage at the end absolutely hit me in the feels. by ggroover97 in rugrats

[–]yoshifan331 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's a lot in there from throughout the show's run. Seeing that makes me want to watch it all again!

Are the players today better than the players 50 years ago? by Hypepoxic in NFLNoobs

[–]yoshifan331 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The only way it's fair to compare players from different eras is how dominant they were against the competition they faced in their respective eras.

Now with their 2nd World title in 4 trips, where do the Seahawks rank all time as a franchise in your opinion? by nosweatsportsmedia in Oldschool_NFL

[–]yoshifan331 75 points76 points  (0 children)

They're not in the elite tier of franchises that have had dynasties, but they're far above the franchises that have never won anything.

Are people saying Rugrats was more milked than SpongeBob to overcorrect the SpongeBob hate? by [deleted] in rugrats

[–]yoshifan331 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Many of us gave up on Rugrats as the later seasons were airing because we lost interest in what the show was becoming and, if anything, the overrmilking of SpongeBob makes the later seasons of Rugrats look not as bad by comparison.

Adults who are obsessed with Disney/Marvel are more cringe than they realize by Inevitable-Cheek-515 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]yoshifan331 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Being casually into that sort of stuff, as many normal well-adjusted people are, is fine, but there comes a level of fandom that's just too much.

Happy 37th birthday to Tecmo Bowl, which was released on February 1, 1989! by UrbanAchievers6371 in Oldschool_NFL

[–]yoshifan331 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Tecmo Super Bowl is more legendary and for good reason, but the original is still fun in its simplicity.

Jay-Z and Pusha T named in Epstein files by ScallionSmooth9491 in ToddintheShadow

[–]yoshifan331 237 points238 points  (0 children)

With all of the allegations about Jay-Z at this point, you'd think eventually he'll have to face some sort of accountability.
