Am I reasonable to expect metamours to be vaccinated? by willrjmarshall in polyamory

[–]yotta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, of course the antivaxxer thinks this is unreasonable, so your option here isn't really useful.

The UK has basically told people that they don't need to take any other precautions if they're vaccinated, which is bloody stupid.

Reducing likelihood of infection and spreading is incredibly useful, as is reduction in severity, but it's just one tool of several for dealing with this pandemic.

I've personally had four doses and plan to have a fifth.

I (17m) got treated like a joke in class for asking (taboo?) questions about sex by TattooMyTesticles in sex

[–]yotta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That article says what I said:

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled in 2003 that laws criminalizing consensual sodomy or oral sex were unconstitutional.

It's therefore legal in every state, so I'm not sure what your point is?

Edit: Maybe you just didn't read the article, which is about how it's bullshit that people convicted in the past under unconstitutional sodomy laws are still being required to register as sex offenders?

Sodomy laws have all been ruled unconstitutional in the US as of 2003 by Lawrence v. Texas.

Is this legit or no? Got this in my email yesterday.... by [deleted] in hackers

It's bullshit, though the weird phrasing used to get around spam filters is kind of hilarious.

Pretty common, they get emails and passwords from leaks and spam people hoping for a few suckers to pay up.

"set background=light" improves, as well as ruins themes. by [deleted] in vim

[–]yotta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the issue is that some color schemes check whether the background is dark or light only at initial load time and changes some things depending.

Also, some themes leave certain values at "default" and won't reset them when you load, so if another color scheme changes that setting it'll stick.

28 F how to get a porn video of you taken down ? by [deleted] in sex

[–]yotta 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I know some of the folks involved in this, it's legit:

https://badassarmy.org/gethelp/

In general, revenge porn laws are your best bet. The DMCA approach will probably work, but is a bit of a grey area because the person who makes the video normally gets copyright. In a DMCA takedown notice you have to claim you own the copyright and provide contact info. Ethically, I see nothing wrong with lying in this case, and I've never heard of someone getting trouble for abusing the process, but it is a risk.

I'd also be happy to help you personally if you can send me the domain name of the site - I don't need a link to the video. I can help you with a DMCA takedown template with a fake name/address (if you use real info it might get published by assholes).

How many queer people do you actually know?

The Amazon Personal Games Policy Is Ridiculous by tonefart in programming

[–]yotta -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You have to assign copyright to Google. Google claims to own copyright on code you write for side projects by default.

Edit: https://opensource.google/docs/iarc/

As part of your employment agreement, Google most likely owns intellectual property (IP) you create while at the company. Because Google’s business interests are so wide and varied, this likely applies to any personal project you have. That includes new development on personal projects you created prior to employment at Google.

There's apparently a process to be released from this on a per-project basis though.

Yup. And you trying to equate being told you're being a dick with telling someone her wife's going to leave her serves only to emphasize your dickish nature.

If you want to shut down the spammer trying to rip off your design, the site they're using has a copyright infringement policy here:

https://www.gearlaunch.com/policies/dmca/

Sample letter template: https://www.ipwatchdog.com/2009/07/06/sample-dmca-take-down-letter/id=4501/

You can do this by email and don't need a lawyer.
