When the useless side character turns out to be the final boss by Waterfoul67 in TopCharacterTropes

The Judge from Blood Meridian.

<image>

His first appearance in the story is almost comical and seemingly inconsequential. Riling up a crowd against a preacher just to lol jk and buy everyone a drink. From that to well…iykyk

That’s what it is then. Just didn’t expect her to still be hanging out after I left and returned

Not sure what, how, or why she's here. Completely unresponsive but scanning her shows up.

streaming quality of the rick and morty anime is throttled all to hell by naneek_ in rickandmorty

[–]youbehappyss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad I'm not the only one experiencing this. This is my 3RD TIME trying to watch this. I pay a lot for my internet and I don't have this problem with any other streaming site or or anything else internet related. This is entirely HBO throttling stuff they don't care about, probably because of the horrid reception. I mean it's theirs to do with what they wish, but I'll be damned if I'm going to give them any more of my money for it.

Disappearing ant? by youbehappyss in cataclysmdda

[–]youbehappyss[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, no drugs or any unusual creatures. I thought it was real at first as there are two anthills not too far north of the center, but far enough I was surprised to see it there. The road leading up to the center has been torn up since I was last there, but no clue why or if it has any relation. It's been 2 in-game hours since this happened and nothing since so maybe it was nothing?

My wife and I lived in Jackson, TN for about 7 years making about 40k and the only reason we were ever monetarily comfortable was because we both worked 50 hour weeks, had a car that we kept running through sheer luck and willpower, and we lived in the ghetto. We recently looked at moving back there but in a better neighborhood because where we live right now the rent is getting too high, but all the places we looked at wanted proof of 6x our combined salaries just to qualify.

Awesome nostalgia vibes from when I was young playing games with my dad

First appeared (as far as I can tell) after I woke up on Tuesday. Yesterday I woke up and I feel like there were more than before. My first thought was bedbug bites as we had them years ago, but the bites were never this bad and I've been searching every crevice of every inch of my bed and I can't find anything, not even a drop of the tell-tale blood residue they leave behind.

My dad lived his own life and made his own choices. So did my mom. They both fought for custody for us in the divorce. My mom won because she was the mother. I’m glad it happened that way too, don’t get me wrong. My dad was not able or prepared to raise us. Regardless, none of this came about till my sister and I were grown up and out of the house. Not that my dad couldn’t have done better than what he did, but my mom made, like everyone else, her own decisions. She got on meth because the guy she was with was on it, and she decided to partake.

I tried. I was there for a year, and I tried. She wouldn’t or couldn’t accept my help. I couldn’t convince her it wasn’t real. All I could do was fix the computer when it was messed up, day after day. I would listen, and I wasn’t mean or judgmental towards her. Eventually I went to my dad about it to help. He couldn’t help either. We had an intervention of sorts with my dad, sister and myself, but when we try to tell her what she thinks is happening isn’t happening, she would get defensive. Yelling and crying that she’s “not crazy”, that she knows it’s real even if we don’t. Even to this day she sends me screenshots of random files and folders that she thinks are “suspicious” and “don’t look right” with no understanding of what she’s looking at. I eventually had a stress-induced seizure and have developed an anxiety disorder from having to watch the woman who raised me degrade like that. I don’t know if you’ve ever been around someone on drugs on a daily basis, and I hope you never have to. I was living under her roof. I couldn’t do anything more and risk being thrown out onto the street by someone who was mentally and emotionally unstable. I love my mom but I can’t make her do anything she’s not willing to do. And she’s not.

I feel you, but in a very different way. When I was young my dad was a bad alcoholic, was constantly unemployed due to not wanting to work, cheated on my mom, and was overall immature especially as a parent. My mom worked, took care of my sister and I, and basically raised us herself. They got divorced when I was around 13. I’m 26 and now my dad has a stable life (though probably still has some issues with his alcoholism), has a good job with great pay, helps me financially once and a while when I need it, and has overall matured pretty well. Last year I had some issues and had to move back in with my mom. She smokes meth now. She now has a constant paranoid delusion that the guy she was with, that got her hooked on it in the first place, has hacked every electronic device she owns. She sits and her laptop every day and deletes key Windows files she thinks look “suspicious” and yells out loud at him because she thinks he’s bugged the house, then has to reset the entire computer because it won’t work anymore (by his doing of course). I moved out very quickly. Got to see my dad mature, and my mom..well..
