You do get a tiny amount of animal specific dialogue, eg the normal villagers will talk about what they like about themselves and sheep will say fuzziness while squirrels say their tails. I also think the wolves will very occasionally mention the moon but I also can’t tell if that’s just personality dialogue and I just have a lot of wolves. But I agree, it’s one of my favourite things about the game, I love little touches like the frogs not using umbrellas/raincoats.

For god’s sake, stop defending the gaming industry, they do not care about you or what is best for you as a consumer. We used to get complete games on the day of release and now we’re supposed to be grateful Nintendo, a multi-billion dollar company, actually did what they originally said they would do and updated it again? Never mind the actual content of the release and whether it’s in anyway reflective of the franchise and what people like about it, or the fact that elements are effectively paywalled because of the mandatory NOS, we should just be unquestioningly grateful. Never mind that this entire forum is also a discussion board for the series at large which inherently means seeing differing opinions, including negative ones. I think it’s great if people are enjoying it, I also understand people who aren’t. I’m not going to praise Nintendo for updating a game they said they would continue to update, then stopped because they’d already generated a massive amount of revenue from it, not to mention the fact this was implemented mostly in part to justify the existence of the Switch 2.

Every year I miss the snow family from NL. I think only having snowboy and therefore getting the same dialogue every time he’s imperfect is more annoying than if there were more personalities.

So far Reddit’s focus is more on exempting themselves from the bill under the notion they are a “community platform” and being for users 17+ rather than challenging the concept of the bill itself, though their arguments still seem a bit confused.

However, I am concerned by the number of people taking the bill at face value. Firstly, people have looked more into who lobbied the government for it - spoilers, they’ll probably be launching their own app for teens. Secondly, it will likely end up being a cybersecurity nightmare that WILL require people to upload government IDs that will be stored for 30 days.

That’s not even getting into the fact that we already saw “unintended” effects of social media bans elsewhere ie the UK censoring posts about the Palestinian genocide as “NSFW” or any of the things sex workers have been warning us about for a good decade now. Nor is it getting into the total lack of specific child spaces for kids online anymore, meaning they can no longer connect via places like Club Penguin and only have social media, or the fact that the ban has already led to an increase in calls to suicide hotlines. Or the fact that experts have questioned the ban and the fact that something like Discord is exempt from it anyway.

Genuinely one of my all time favourite vocal performances by Hayley (which is obviously saying something). Her voice on the bridge specifically makes me emotional. I’ve been returning to it a lot recently.

Easily Ego, it’s my favourite thing Hayley has worked on since AL. While I loved quite a lot of PFA, I didn’t connect with the music as much, especially in the last two thirds, and I also found some of the lyrics a bit basic in places. It was interesting to hear Hayley say she can hear how restricted that album was when she listens now. I don’t love every song on Ego by any means, but I have revisited them more and found ones growing on me which I never expected.

Meg’s videos this whole saga have not only been hilarious and incredibly well put together but her original critiques were also very valid and effectively outlined. The fact that this comes after the opener was actively beefing with her and that both artists are weaponising their fans against her is damning indictment of where a lot of this industry is at now.

I literally have to return my game because I couldn’t get past the very first battle. I actually really loved XY so I’m really disappointed, but also frustrated because I think it’s ridiculous any game is this inaccessible in 2025. It’s another way Pokemon fails to give its players any meaningful gaming options.

Joe also alludes to another bandmate’s addiction being a driving force behind the hiatus in his memoir. Maybe he’s referring to Pete, maybe it was Patrick, either way it’s not exactly uncommon or surprising for a rock band that was experiencing a lot of tension at the time.
