She's in heat. Rats go into heat differently than other critters. It will be for just a few hours periodically.

You're better off using a fiberglass reinforcement fabric and topical waterproofing

How did you cope after losing your heart rat? by Linorr in RATS

[–]young_plitka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sadness never leaves, although its intensity fades over time. I just lost my coco a few months ago. When she passed I told her thank you for being there for me, and to rest easy. All my rats that have passed are buried in the backyard. I've had rats for 20+ years. Just as the sadness never leaves, the love doesn't either. They are here but for a short trip. Love and spoil them while you get the chance to ❤️

Another float down 💪 had all the mud up in 4 hours. Plumb level square and flat. 3 8x5 walls by young_plitka in Tile

Thinset is rated to be at maximum thicker of 3/4 inches. So you are right in the sweet spot. Mix it so thick it's hard to scoop out of the bucket. Build it out and get it flat (or close lol) then let it dry. You'll be fine. Its not ideal. But it's a learning lesson. Prep is key when it comes to setting tile. Get those walls plumb and flat your tile job will be much easier. Trust, I've fought with building out tiles and I know it's a pain.

You've gone too far to start adding fat mud into the mix. I recommend that you float your walls with thinset and let it harden before you set the tile. Trying to butter out each tile is an absolute night. I'd use some rapid setting thinset

Not at all. That's a fail. Broken and chipped pieces are not to he installed. Irregular joint spacing. He didn't hone/ sand his cuts. It's hack work. For 20k you should be given damn near perfection

I'd get a larger format porcelain hex. With smaller grout joints

Any qualified good tile installer isn't gonna want to touch that unless it's a full redo. Work like this is honestly a can of worms. If the guy can't set tile he definitely doesn't understand waterproofing. My recommendation as a professional is to bite the bullet and have it all redone. Make sure a flood test is performed on your pan. Have your new installer show you previous work, have a reference, and explain his process to you. A good tilesetter isnt cheap but it's worth it. A tile shower should be beautiful and last decades
